Tunisia logically beat us 108-95, playing with a superior attitude: (78535)
MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite who scored 27 points (9-16), grabbed 3 rebounds and handed out 4 assists.

The poor form of our 2 usual centers cost us dearly today. One of them is back from injury and the other has just been sold. Unfortunately, our pool of inside players is far too small to compensate for this type of event. As I've already said, if motivated managers decide to train good South African inside players, there will be places to take in this team.

As the chances of beating Tunisia were slim, I decided to take it easy. The end of the competition will tell us whether this was the right choice. Nigeria and Algeria also lost. Tunisia came back on the rankings, but with less enthusiasm, and we'll be 4 teams fighting for 2 places.

We'll face Algeria next Monday.

We beat Algeria 109-96 today: (78538)
MOTM: Stephen Buffery with 28 points (13-18) and 5 assists.
We are now 3rd with a win ahead of Algeria, Nigeria and Tunisia.
A tough match awaits us next Monday against the mighty Egyptians, still unbeaten this season.

We lost 101-109 to the Egyptian stronghold: (78541)
This is encouraging because we weren't that far away.
Our 3-2 zone was interesting for limiting their outside players.
We also dominated on the rebound, but committed too many fouls.
However, my choice to predict an outside offense was not the right one, as Egypt played in outside isolation, which is considered a neutral offense.
MOTM: Vadiveloo Moshoeli scored 29 points at 50%, grabbed 4 rebounds and handed out 3 assists.

The last game of the 2nd round is against Nigeria.
A win would qualify us for the semi-finals.
A defeat would not mean elimination, but qualification would then depend on point difference.
Keep your players in good shape! It can make all the difference! Thank you.

We beat Nigeria 100-77 tonight: (78543)

Your team effort for this game: Take it Easy
Nigeria looked like the only team trying out there.

Our defense was paramount and we were able to save enthusiasm.
MOTM: Muileki Simelaine with 19 points (8-12), 13 rebounds and 2 assists.

We are qualified for the semi-finals and our opponent will be Morocco.
This will be next Friday evening.
Morocco is very strong. They managed to beat undefeated Egypt tonight.
I count on all managers to keep their players in good shape.
A GS training would be much appreciated.
If our players are not in great shape, it will be very difficult to win.

We lost in the semi-final to Morocco 83-98: (78861)
I'm disappointed, but this team seemed superior to ours. Beating them would have been an achievement.
I'd still like to thank all the managers, because with a few exceptions, the players were in good shape.

We're missing a few players to be able to compete with such an opponent. Fortunately, some young guards are well trained and should quickly make their mark. I'm more worried about our inside players.

Koos Linden (52924929) and Motlatsi Maree (52929254) are very different players who can become dominant if they are well trained. However, they are only MVP. I hope they don't hit the cap too early.

Here are the players who could join the team in the future, if all goes well, but there is still a lot of work to be done:

Aaron Dijkslag - HOF : (53257788)
Umi Munthali - HOF : (53257739)
Desigan Luvoyo - MVP : (52595964)
Leabua Moloto - MVP : (53253854)
Juggie Zonke - MVP : (52595959)
Mthunzi Nkopane - superstar : (52928500)
Liod Mbangwa - superstar : (52595865)

The potential of the last 2 could block them quickly though.

Juggie Zonke is for sale. If someone wants to train him, it's time.

Desigan Luvoyo was bought by a manager who does not intend to train him.
I’m trying to change his mind because it would be a great loss for the team...
