A comfortable 109-72 W over Senegal tonight: (81194)

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite finished with 23 points (9-14), 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

We remain in 2nd place in the group and will face Egypt in the semifinals next Friday.
It won't be easy because Egypt is one of the favorites for the title and beat us twice this season.

I'm counting on all the managers to get their players in top shape!
That could make all the difference in the semifinals, and in the finals if we get there.

Since last week, Muileki Simelaine has become the second-best rebounder of all time for the national team.
First place isn't far off. He should clinch it within the next few games.

We beat Egypt 100-90 yesterday evening: (81509)
We qualified for the final against Morocco that will take place on Monday evening.
The Moroccans are favorites, but the match promises to be close. 🤞

Unfortunately, we didn't achieve the feat we hoped for in the final.
Morocco won the title with a 96-80 victory: (81588)

Our team stayed in the race for a long time, but the final quarter, lost 9-23, was fatal.
The huge difference in rebounds (38 to 63) largely explains the result.
Our players also shot less efficiently than usual (.349) due to the strong opposing defense.
I am obviously disappointed, but we had an excellent season and Morocco was stronger.
There is still some way to go before we can compete with them.
As I've been saying for several seasons, we are short of inside players.

Thank you to all the managers for their involvement.
There is still work to be done, but we are on the right track.

We will participate in the World Championships next season.

I will conduct the usual review of the South African players in the coming days and will contact the managers if necessary.
Two key players will be 35 at the start of the season: Muileki Simelaine and Stephen Buffery.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that they don't decline too quickly.

You made a great run in the secound round and it was a high-level final.

The work done in South Africa is excellent, and it's a great thing because the higher the level, the more chances our nations will have to compete in the World Championship. Players like Motalsi Maree will do wonders for your inside game.

Good luck at World's ;)

Thank you for the kind words.
Your team looks stronger than ours, especially with a deeper bench.
Being able to play PON in the semi-finals also gave you an extra advantage.
In any case, you had a great season and deserved the final victory.
Good luck for the coming season!

I will empty the roster after this Monday's scrimmage and I will conduct a full review of South Africa's prospects, before the enthusiasm reset next Saturday. Then I will draw up a list of 12 players on Sunday before the start of the World Championships. Please keep your players in good shape. This may influence the initial choice.

I finalized the players review and expanded my database which now includes nearly 80 players.
There are established and and well-known players, rising stars, and very young players with high potential.
There will obviously be losses over the next few seasons, but I prefer to cast a wide net.
I contacted the managers and hope that the training will pay off.
