Hello. I'm the new manager here,

I believe the current bidding system for trainers is counterintuitive in the long run. A more effective approach would be to offer a salaried contract structure. For instance, a Level 7 trainer could be offered a total salary of $5 million over three seasons, translating to $1.5 million per season. This format would provide stability and flexibility for both parties.

Alternatively, higher-rated trainers could be offered shorter contracts with higher salaries, allowing for flexibility and potential renewal options. This would enable teams to reassess their needs and adjust their roster accordingly. Additionally, teams could explore more affordable options on the market.

In my site view from reading, trainers of all levels have a purpose. Higher-level teams may struggle to effectively utilize top-tier trainers, and their players might not exhibit significant improvement. Conversely, lower-level teams might find that a Level 3 trainer is perfectly suited to their needs. Some even argue and suggest that a Level 4 trainer offers optimal value, but Im not very sure, in that reading of perspectives. I have lost to learn.

I do think contracts for trainers is the betters way . Btw 1.5 mill a season is just a example. I personally think 750k a season level 7 trainer is fair. For 3 seasons .1,3million for 3 season in contract.. With options to pay upfront all or through seasonal revenue weekly..

I feel that your ultimate goal is to lower the average salary of trainers, which refers to the average salary after spreading out the bid price cost.
If that is the case, I think it would be better to simply change the supply and add more trainers with suitable salaries.

The current system has a buffering effect when there is a sudden surge in demand (prices go up, and trainers with higher salaries also become options, which increases the supply).
On the other hand, resetting trainers' salaries seems like it would create a constant supply of trainers.
Intuitively, it feels like only a small number of trainers needs to be kept on the transfer market.

Also, the same average trainer salary can either be a high salary with a low bid price or a low salary with a high bid price.
If all trainers have low salaries and you don’t get a good deal by luck, the bid prices will not be low.
Wouldn’t this make it even harder for teams with less cash compared to now?

By the way, if I remember correctly, in the past, trainers with specialties had an average salary (per week) of about 50k for level 5 (after spreading out the bid price) and nearly 100k for level 6.
Over the past 10-20 seasons, BuzzerBeater has improved, and now the prices are clearly much cheaper, with level 6 trainers around 50k.
