Hello and welcome to season 69! It's been quiet around here for a while, so I'm just trying to liven things up a bit.
7 full seasons in for the homegrown experiment, and things are not progressing well. Last season I sold my best player in hopes of getting a good draft pick. Unfortunately, the conference was so weak that we still finished in 3rd place and only got my third preferred pick in the draft. Deron Mott is definitely usable, but our top choice would have been much better.
Faced with another season of mediocrity, we took a chance and recently signed Jamie Landry to re-join the team after being away for almost 10 seasons. Signing a 37 year old is not the greatest strategy, but options are limited when you're homegrown. Landry is 5th on our all-time scoring list and his skills haven't deteriorated too much yet. I figure we'll take a gamble and can probably get at least 2 good seasons out of him.
