Can a player who is retired that played the first 8 games of the season be voted MVP. There is a player who is first in rebounds and third in assists but is retired because the team owner quit.

I was just wondering if he could be voted MVP or when his rankings would come off the leaderboard? Thanks

I doubt he'll have any chance since there is an increasing games played requirement for the leaderboards.
