Anyone notice more blocks in their most recent game?

My team had 7 blocks and average 5.7 bpg...so my game it was pretty indeterminate. However, it still seemed like guards were getting a fair distribution of the blocks...even those with pretty lousy shot blocking skills. :-(

ill talk it over with the other BBs but i'm tempted to put these issues to rest by releasing a BBwide average number of blocks per game, before and after the new GE.

For me, its more about the distribution.

I mean if a guard with lousy shot blocking is averaging 0.5 bpg and a center with great shot blocking is average 1.0 bpg -- the advantage of having that added skills is only 0.5 bpg.

On the other hand, if the guard averages 0.1 bpg and the center average 1.2 bpg, then its more like 1.1 bpg which means the skill is more than twice as effect as before.

would be cool, because on my very small sample(just my league, with additional my Pl it look even more worse) we have now smaller numbers ;)

Would also be a good feedback, how much it is raised even if my number not totaly representative i don't expect a big step. The change with the rebounding system seems to be more drastic for the big men.

I'll keep on Spamming, i have take some data into account:

http://www.file-upload.net/download-1807513/Blocks.xls.ht... *

Result:

Last year league average was 7,53 blocks per game from each team, the last three game days(24 games) in our league have an average from 5,23 blocks each game which means a decrease of the blocking number about 31%.

If i remember the first game day right after the engine change which i calculated in my head(at this game day i got very good 7 blocks per team), we got 25% less blocks with a sample of 32 blocks.

Still this isn't a huge sample, but it ain't that small that you should expect an increase or even no huge decrease like here.

Edit:* To control the data Game 1 was on the top of the conference side, and the first four games are the left conference the next four the right one.

Small sample size and opposition skills all should be taken into account... but, in my last 3 league games I have had:

10 blocks (against RNG), 23 Blocks (against PTB), and 13 Blocks (LI).

The 3 games prior to the change I had:

7 Blocks (LI), 12 Blocks (OT, RNG), 6 Blocks (Patient).

So... I'm seeing more Blocks personally. But, there is a lot more that goes into the equation.

it is possible that some teams or leagues, particularly those with relatively low blocking skills compared to the average offensive skill set, might release fewer blocks in the new GE. We changed the way we did blocks, making it blocking skill more important, and tuned the overall level such that the average team got more blocks. The average buzzerbeater team is getting more blocks, this i'm sure of, though I can conceive that a particular buzzerbeater team might be getting fewer blocks because his blocking skills are bad relative to his competitions offensive skills, and the changes have exposed this. This was part of the reason we preannounced that blocking would become more important, so that teams would have a chance to pay relatively more attention to the blocking skill of their players in anticipation of this change.
