I'm a bit confused about all the division stuff. I understand that there are five divisions and that I is best and V is worst. But let's say I'm in V (5). If I get promoted, do I go right to division IV? Or do I get promoted to a higher league in V?
Also, I'm read in quite a few places that it's always better to try to promote/stay in the league than being demoted because of money reasons. How does division/league affect money? More fans/merchandise/TV contract money? Or do I get paid on the get go for being in a division or being promoted? Any information would be extremely useful, even if I didn't ask for it specifically.

if you win the play off finals then you will be promoted directly to division IV not higher division. if you didn't win the play offs and you are the best of your league you may get promoted by replacing one of the bot teams in IV devision.
if you promoted your fans/merchandise/TV contract money will rise little bit.

yes, but here's the question: if I'm already in division V, what is stopping me from just getting demoted each time if I can't get any lower?

Nothing. You cannot demote lower than the lowest league. However your fans want you to win, and will buy more tickets if you do more often.

What would be the benefit to being in last place every season in Div V? You'll get the first draft pick, but that's pretty much it. Your ticket sales and merchandising will be in the toilet. I suppose there's nothing to stop you from tanking in Div V while you focus on training... it doesn't seem like it'd be much fun, though
