How about an subjective "pat on the back" award to the best managed team(s) in the NBBA?

For this season, I'm nominating Heathens for:

-Finishing 3rd in the Big 8
-4th best record overall in the NBBA
-Making it to round 8 of the Tournament while outlasting all but 4 other NBBA teams.
-Doing all of this while being the youngest team in the league, starting 1-3 seasons later then anyone else!

A season ago I told Mike I figured he'd be one of the odds on demotee's in season 8. I wasn't even close. Well done Heathens.

When me, you, Stogey, and Brian actually completely agree on something, then I'd say that assessment is correct.

What is all this? There's now an prize for not wasting 150k/week on a giant oaf? Sign me up for next season's too.

I think three other teams need some attention:

1. That's What She Said. If the Heathens are getting this award, they have to share it with TWSS, because they're practically the same team. Both promoted for the first time last season, took the 6 seed, and then this year took the 3 seed, all with a modest salary. Don't dismiss them, Big 8 elitists; there's not much evidence for any disparity between the conferences these days.

2. 10th Ave. Vikings. Promoting for the first time and finishing anywhere above 7th is damn hard, and I think it's going to become very very rare in future seasons. There's just way too much free money up here. I know my proudest achievement is still my 6th place first season, and the Vikings have equalled that a year later, and under harder circumstances.

3. Ice Storm. Sure, they're in a different weight class from the others, but they are about to trounce the Marauders, humiliate KDB, and repeat as champions.
