I foolishly didn't raise my effort level in the semis and lost to an inferior team.

I went 21-1 this season with a 473 point differential in DIV, and wanted to know what my chances are of being promoted. I looked at every league in DIV and found that there are 29 teams with one loss or fewer this season and every one of those teams except 6 are in the finals. An additional league (IV.42) has two 21-1 teams facing eachother in the finals.

If each of the 21-1 teams or 22-0 teams win in the finals, I figure to be the #4 or #5 best team not to get automatically promoted. Does anyone know if there are enough bot teams in DIII for me to get promoted?

Thanks!

Well, if you've taken the time to analyse all 64 leagues in divIV, then why not have a look at divIII, where there are only 16?

You want to search for teams that are currently "managed by computerized player" but have managed to avoid regular relegation; to do this, just click on "conference information" from the standings page.

Actually, you should also consider teams in the same situation in div II and I, because they will trigger a bot-promotion from lower divisions as well, but this won't probably be necessary, as I feel you are in a very good position to be bot-promoted.

Still, if you want to be sure....

I am 20-2 in Div IV. I checked in D.III, and there is only one bot team that will be used for promotion for D.IV in USA. I think there were a total of 11 or 12 bots, but only one was not eliminated by 8th place or relegation. So your best chance is if there are no 22-0 teams that lose in the playoffs in D.IV, and if there aren't any, then the best 21-1 team will get it.

Edit: I just checked Div I and II in USA. No bots. So it looks like only one team from Div IV will bot promote to Div III.

Speaking of bot-promotion, what does the game engine consider? Win-lost record, or how well you did in the playoffs? I only went 13-9, but I beat two better teams to make the league finals (USA V). I'm hoping for bot promotion if I don't win it outright.

Sorry if this question has been posted before but how do you go about checking the other leagues? Is there a page that shows all teams in div5 for example?

Also, if you are in div5, where do you get relegated to?

The easiest way is to click on "Search" in the menu on the left, and then fill the last form, "Search for league in country".
After you've opened the standings page for, say, league V.1, you don't have to repeat the same process to search for the other leagues: you can manually increase the number at the end of the URL in your browser, and you'll have the link for the next league (V.2, in the previous example).

Also, if you are in div5, where do you get relegated to?

Well, div6, if there is one in your country. But even if there is, chances are it's filled with bot-controlled teams, so you won't be relegated anyway. To verify this, open the Standings page for your league and select "Season: 8" from the drop-down menu on the upper right. You can now check if the bottom teams in your league were actually relegated last year, which will give you an idea on what to expect.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my league is pretty new. Only 5 teams in season 8 was not bot-controlled. Of those 5, 3 got promoted so I guess the league is pretty even field. Cool.

thanks again.

You forget championship winners who will be bots at the moment of the season update. Yes, it happens.
