Hi, my name is Fenómeno (39173) and I’m applying for the English U-21 national team.

Before presenting myself and my staff team, I’d like all of you to know what we will do for BB-England (in case you select us) .

Our first goal is to bring people to the forum. The first impression we had about this country, is that the users weren´t participating in the conference. Using the forum, a lot of users are able to exchange ideas and learn new things that are helpful to their teams. Some times, new users stop playing BB because they are not winning games, and besides that, they don´t fell stuck to the game because there is no interaction. And with lesser users, there are lesser players that are able to be trained for the NT.

As we don´t want it to happen we will arrange some contests for every user to participate and we will be making analysis on every U21 NT match, before and after the game.

And, if a bigger analysis is needed, or when we have to post information that only English users can see, we will use BB-Stats. It as a forum, where we can select who enters and who doesn’t. We can post things there like, our enthusiasm or our team roster.

Then, we have the National Team. Our biggest goal is long-termed. As every U21 NT, we will try to incentivize people to train players in the best possible way, so that, in 2 seasons, our successor will have a lot better players then we had when we started. And that, some of the players we accompanied, will be in the senior roster. But, beyond that, we have the goal of climbing in the rankings. That’s not a very difficult job, but it will take a lot of work and time.

For last, I'd like to present my teammates.

We have staff team composed of three users. Besides being U-21 coach I'll also scout SG and SF. Jotapeq (39037) will scout PG and Vasco92 (94111) will scout PF and C players and with that team I hope the best for that national team. We will be scouting every league in England and major leagues in other countries.

But as we are not machines, we would like your help in this process. Every time you find a promising player, you contact us so that we can have a larger database. We have already started this, scanning through all eligible players on TL

As players, we already have some experience. Vasco92 and I began playing in season 7,and jotapeq began in season 3. All of us did an excellent season and to prove that, we have climbed to third division after winning our final matches.

In this candidature I´ve only chosen Portuguese players but the language is not a problem for us, so if you want to make any question we will answer as soon as possible and in good English, so...

Vote Fenómeno. ;)

You say that you will choose the best U21 players... How will you do that?

would anyone consider me as a U21 national team coach? Or would I be out off the running since I do play in the english competion myself?

I remember a few seasons ago, the coaches off the english teams rejecting sharing their NT players info so that all coaches could get involved with the NT.

I have already done some extensive scouting for the season 9 Draft and I have to say, we have gotten a pile off rubish. However rubish is trainable too and from following the U21 team the last few seasons we do have some rough diamonds available to us.

Drop me a line when you think I should run for this post and I will put myself up for candidate...

Thanks alot and everyone in England wish you all a very good season!!!

In case noone wants a coach from an english team as the U21 coach, I would say we should ask digging for change again. He is very well aware what the U21 team is alike and I am sure he will do a great job again, like the last campaign...

No offense to our portugese friends, however I would prefer a fluent speaking english U21 and NT coach...

Well, as you should know, English the most spoken language in the world. In POrtugal, english is our second language and everyone learns it at school. I had English for 7 years and I was a good student. Don´t you thinks it is enough to comunicate with you? And as I saw from the post before yours, there's people in England that talk worse than us.

If we had problems with language, we wouldn't have proposed to turn this into a more active comunity using the forum.

So since the language isn´t a problem, we would like you to formulate questions about our candidature, not about our language. We are ready to answer your questions so that you can have a better idea about what we want to do

While you'd make a very good coach, I'm not in favour of an English-league coach taking over as U21 boss. As the ex-boss, I can safely say that the power to call up any decent prospect does give you an advantage in club basketball. Now, the game has changed, and having your own country players in your club squad gives even greater financial reward. I'm not saying for one moment that any English coach would abuse this position but I don't think it's 'fair' that they have the opportunity.

Our portugese friends are still relatively inexperienced coaches, and their English isn't quite as good as they seem to think, but it is passable and I wouldn't campaign against them - or for them.

Again, I'd favour a native English, or US english-speaker from either Canada or the NBBA as the ideal candidate to be U21 coach.

However, if you really, really want to be NT coach Astragoth, I'm sure you'd do the job well and while I wouldn't vote for you for the reason I've already stated, I wouldn't campaign against you.

I disagree here.

I'm on my 4th term as USA NT coach, and I've received very little flack in this regard.

I've always maintained that I could post my whole roster and it doesn't make much difference, and I'm going to play the same way regardless of what I know about someone's players.
