Hello, everyone! A brand new season begins!!

Malaysia has been drawn in the same group with France, Canada and Egypt in the Repechage Tournament which begins next week. Only the group topper will qualify for WC. By looking at the players, France are no doubt the favourites to go through.

We will try our best to finish as high the group as possible, but, tough matches these are.

Will update more later.

Cheers.

Any position also I need!! :)

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I'm satisfied with the current crop of players, but a little bit disappointed with the U21 graduates this season. None can merit a promotion onto the Senior NT. That means another season with the same uncles and ah peks putting up fights with the younger opponents.

wow... c'mon... U21 grads straight into the senior squad?
"You Can't Be Serious!" (hehe... famous McEnroe quote)
but jokes aside, i think your expectations too high for the young cikus la... you gonna need to give them a couple of seasons before they can go into the senior la.. moreover, it's not like 4-5 seasons ago that we first started BB, whereby the U21 kids can play in the senior already coz there ain't any really gd seniors around then...
however, the current crops of seniors already been in the squad since 4-5 seasons already, surely the younger ones will need to take a bit more effort in continous training to dislodge them leh...

Well, I have to disagree with you, redtooth. If the potential youngsters are exclusively trained from 18yo, they can easily dislodge the oldies after they turn 22. With due respect to the current NT players' coaches, they are not exactly world class, yet they are now too old to improve and also hit the potential cap already.

Take a look at some other countries' NT and you'll know what I mean. Those 22 yo monsters earning >100K salary went straight into their respective NT. The difference is mainly due to these countries have a group of devoted clubs that go all out to train their ATGs and HOFs from Day 1.

I posted something similar to ponder in the Hattrick elections forum.

Club vs Country. How does one find the equilibrium? Pretty tough actually. At the moment we are still a pretty small community in BB. Our base is small thus our players' database is limited. Our current NT players have been a mainstay for the last 4-5 seasons with very few young players challenging for these positions. Most managers (including me) tend to aim for club glory thus sacrificing national interests. We've gone out to get the best players that money can buy.

A couple of suggestions to both NT and U-21 managers. Let us know individually on the skills to be upgraded for the NT players under our respective care. Failure to do so by the owner may result in the player being dropped from the national squad. Period. We need these team owners to consider our national interests as well.

We should also propose to BB to subsidize 1/3 of wages of players that play for the NT. This will certainly motivate team owners to focus on training their players. Ahmoi and Terfu (potentially to be re-elected as U21 coach), please let us what you need from us. I am sure we'll do our best to fulfill them.

I'm not kidding. Just look at the following 22 yo French NT monsters, and they not the best players in their squad!! Scary, huh?

(5829840)
(5831055)
(5828820)
(5828557)

Let's hope we do not get deep fried in the coming match against France. Yaiks!

Cheers!
