I was wondering what the solid black square boxes represent on the live game thing.

And also what does a red named player mean on the roster of the live matches?

I had that a few weeks ago. i think it is a missed shot (X) and a made shot (O) taken from the same spot, and the X and O are on top of each other, which give you a square

Red player means he has been injured.

I believe the square is either a shot taken that was goaltended or an And-1. I cant remember for the life of me but I'm leaning towards the goaltended.

really the first time i asked i was told it was goaltending.

and i have seen single shots go up (only shot from that pos) and it results in a square

I've also had squares in my games, I thought those were "and1" shots or shots at the buzzer

The squares are a missed shot (X) and a made shot (o) taken from exactly the same spot on the court. When a player has red lettering it means they're injured.
