how can a player "go way up to snag an alley oop pass" and score, but no one get an assist?

and how can a player "bring the crowd to its feet" and "slam it home" but miss the shot or "skillfully finger roll a shot in" but again miss the shot?

personally i love those parts of the game lol
well when its happening to the other team lol

You may want to post this in the 'bugs' forum. I have often wondered the same thing about such scenarios.

The alley oop thing is a bug, if he goes up there to catch it someone had to throw it up :P. About the dunks and layups, are you sure the shots weren't blocked? And even in real life people miss dunks, JR Smith has quite a few videos of spectacular missed dunks on youtube :P
