Hi,

I have a doubt, let's see if someone has an answer or has had similar bad experiences.

Let's say I have a player (;-)) with OD and ID skills above 10. Driving is also above 10.
However, I have observed in many games, playing as SG or SF, that he fouls a lot (m2m or zone), ending up playing around 30 minutes before being fouled out. Is there any reason beyond the "hidden attitude" people mention in other posts? Only thing I noticed is that the SB is low (pitiful I recall), but I can't believe this is the whole reason; otherwise, many other players would play much less!

Any thoughts? Should I train SB? Which level would be "safe" to play the 48 minutes? XD

Thanks!!!

I don;t get your qeustion.

Does he foul more as SG or SF than in other positions?

Are you asking whether the hidden attitude is the only thing that influences it?

Or something else?

Crunchy! If you eat fast enough

He fouls a lot in both SF and SG positions. I've observed this behavior in m2m defense, and in zone defenses.

I'm trying to figure out why and see if somebody else has had similar problems; it doesn't make much sense to me that level of fouls with the relative high level of ID and OD he has. At the moment, I can only think of low SB level or the hidden attitude, but still, I don't see it.

I think that would depend on a lot of things, starting with the opponents he's up against. Does he foul a lot during opponent's possessions or when challenging shots? I have a PG that gets into foul trouble very often, but I assume it's because his OD is low. Good luck with that

There is a hidden physicality rating, which determines how often a player fouls and gets fouled.

Is it written somewhere? I've read it somewhere else, but I couldn't find it in the rules.
When I read it for the first time, it seemed to me like the "since I have no other explanation (which is my case), it should be it..." :-)

It usually fouls defending. Many are not even shooting fouls (that's why I doubt of the SB root cause).

Thanks all for the replies!

It isn´t written at the rules, but it´s well known that´s true. There is a hidden skill, call it aggressiveness if you want, that makes the difference of fouling on different players. One my SF has a high aggressiveness, and it´s a problem.
Best regards

hey mate...

I always knew that there is a hidden "aggresiveness" for players, however I never thought this could have a massive impact on the player. yes some impact, but not massive... I feel your pain. Because I bought a player, which I believe could be a cracking player and he managed to get fouled out within 21 min in his first game and 41 min in his second game...

Now alot off people would say his stamina is low, or the player he was playing against is so much better blablabla.

I played against an extremely weak team and a bot. And his stamina isnt that bad either. Anyway, playing just 16 min and already have 6 fouls cant have much to do with stamina either.

I am playing this guy tonight or thursday again and lets see what happens. However it might be that you and I got one off the players with the highest aggresiveness around and than you better sell him I reckon...

My players stats looks like this
Age: 18
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: starter
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: average Jump Range: inept
Outside Def.: average Handling: respectable
Driving: average Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: atrocious
