81-120 for Deutschland. We knew it would be impossible to win, so I can't say it was a bad performance. But I have some questions to ask to the coach:

1st: Knowing that you would lose this game, why did you select 16 players for the roster? If the game was lost at the begining, you could have saved some spots fot the other games. I think that 8 or 10 players would be enough.

2nd: Knowing that gameshape is a major influence in a player's performance, why did you select 5 players below respectable that have been playing 48 minutes a game?

3rd: From the 16 players, 5 are in bad shape, so you will only have 13 players left to use. How will you fight this?

I think there were some positives to take from the match. Rebounding, for one, although of course you'd expect it to be helped by playing inside focus tactics at both ends of the court. Even so, to out-rebound the German team is interesting.

Good luck for next week's match, Astragoth.

That's why I said that the performance was not bad. I just don't understand some options astragoth made aout the roster. Maybe he has valid reasons, so that's why I'm asking him why did he do that.

Indeed. I think we should not underestimate our guys. Remarkable rebounding... I start hoping for the 2nd spot in the group :)

dont have much time to answer all your questions in detail.

1) I am sorry, I dont understand your question? Why should I save some spots on the roster? If you are referring to why I didnt leave more players off the roster, so I can select players as a suprise for other games, again, as I have said in so many posts, you can do this is you have a very balanced group off good trained players to train with. Unfortunatelly this isnt the case for the U21 team. So all we can do is pray and hope we do well in our group and win 3 or 4 games. That is my goal for this round and than we will see what happens in the future.

2)I have indeed selected 16 players. As I said before, our U21 are very poorly trained. What did you expect me to do? Select only 8 or 9 because the rest arent good enough to compete with the German or Finnish U21 team? The difference between the best 8 or 9 players and the rest is so huge, that gameshape wouldnt matter either... What I mean with this, the better players with poor gameshape will still perform better than the number 10-16 players...

3) I wont fight gameshape, because it is a fight that i cant win. I have found a lot off players with a very promising future and in 10 days time when I return from my holiday I will contact these coaches and work with them and try persuade them to train the players the way I would like them to train them...

I don't understand why are you talking about only having 16 players worth to be in the u21 NT. Even if the others know more or less the players have on your shortlist, it's allways a surprise if you select someone to the roster in the game day. So I still don't understand why didn't you save spots for future games. This would help you a lot in winning those 3 or 4 games you wanted

This is in the begining. Do you think that a a player with inept gameshape is better than a prominent gameshape player, even if his skills are worse? I think you're using the excuse of the low number of good players for every mistake you make.

Don't you think that this work should be already done? you had plenty of time to do it. And, if you have a staff team, why aren't they helping you? That way, you could save some time and valuable training time. And if you had talk to the trainers before, you could have avoided this gameshape issue. Now, when you come back from holidays, you'll find those players with inept or lower gameshape. So, you will need at least 3 more weeks for them to rise. When it happens, this phase will already be finished. I think you should have thought about this.
