Thursday I had a Cup game against an opponent one level higher than myself. I won by 24.

My question is this: Why were his players consistently rated higher than mine, even though, in most cases,
mine did just as well or better stat-wise?

I'm not complaining, rate em all 2.0 if I got the win, just don't understand it?

I actually thought that since they were a higher level, and therefore, "better" team, that my guys would get better ratings than theirs.

Is it because I went CT and they TIEd?

Btw congratulations, to win this in spite of such a difference in ratings is pretty cool - looking at it from your side only ;-).

Thanks, I certainly thought so anyhow.

Helps me think that I may be starting to understand tactics.

On a related note: IIRC, enthusiasm will never go below 5, therefore, the only realy sensible to do the game after the one linked above was to TIE, er, right?

Ah, I see.

So, basically, I was right, because we are so short into the Schedule?

Aside from offensive contribution (which is typically easy to see), player rating also contains defensive contribution. That's not necessarily steals and blocks -- it's more along the lines of how good were the shots taken against each particular player.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Well, now that you mention it, that makes perfect sense.

Thanks.

in your case, it was more the extra effort you put in which isn't considered in the ratings but in the game.
