I just started training guards this year and am curious what is better to train 1 or 2 position training to better help my team? Also when starting out would defense or offense be better to focus on first? Thanks for your time and help everyone.

Depends how many quality trainees u have really. 1 position training is obviously faster but 2 position gives u more depth in your team. 2 position training u should be able to train 5 guys fully each week. 1 position training u could possibly get 3 guys training if u play them all full games. I would say if u have 5 guards who are about even do 2 position training. If 2 or 3 of them are a bit better make it 1 position training. As for offense or defense up to u really but i would train to have a well balanced player ie a good defender/good shooter rather then a great shooter/bad defender.

my experience - player with 2-post training train around 70% of player with 1-post training. In this way if you have 6 young players then 2-post training is preferable.

Help how to train most effectively(3x48 minutes, 6x 48 minutes):

1-post training of press(OD) - for PG , but it works for all 1-post training (C - ID, SG- JR ... )
put 9 players in your "selected players", and put this players by this instruction:
"Foul Trouble" - let them play - this is major!!!
as PG - your train player only, in starter team and on bench too
as SG - two another players (one as SG starter, one as first SG bench position)
as SF - two another players (one as SF starter, one as first SF bench position)
as PF - two another players (one as PF starter, one as first PF bench position)
as C - two another players (one as C starter, one as first C bench position)
this means that you have all your 9 players in starter team or in first bench position. if injury nor fouls don´t occur then your train player play whole match ( coach change for train-player sometimes if this train-player hasn´t good stamina).
Then repeat this instructions in second league game and SC/cup game with another train-players, and you have 3 train-players prepared for full training on PG.

2-post training of one to one (DRI) - for PG and SG , but it works for all 2-post training (C/PF - ID or REB, winger - JS ... )
put 8 players in your "selected players", and put this players by this instruction:
"Foul Trouble" - let them play - this is major!!!
as PG - your train player only, in starter team and on bench too
as SG - your second train player only, in starter team and on bench too
as SF - two another players (one as SF starter, one as first SF bench position)
as PF - two another players (one as PF starter, one as first PF bench position)
as C - two another players (one as C starter, one as first C bench position)
this means that you have all your 8 players in starter team or in first bench position. if injury nor fouls don´t occur then your train-players play whole match ( coach change for train-player sometimes if this train-player hasn´t good stamina).
Then repeat this instructions in second league game and SC/cup game with another train-players, and you have 6 train-players prepared for full training on PG.

Sorry for my english.

Unfortunately If the you enter the 4th quarter with a 20 point lead or if you get a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter all the starters will sub out regardless of instructions and depth chart

Not always, if theres no backup or reserve to replace him the starter usually can still get a full game. The plan that bik posted would normally get u the minutes u need.
