Hi,
For a shooting guard how important is jump range above average ? What exactly does it do besides, I assume, a guards ability to shoot 3 point shots. For mid range jumpers do you need a big jump range? If you are playing run and gun or motion how important is it. I can see if you run princeton which has fewer 2pt shots (greater number of 3pt ?? ) then perphaps. Thanks

i personally like guards who had JR around 80% of the Jumpshot.

Jumpshots are a function of both skills in my eyes, but especially the close jumpers are more baout JS, so if you are a look inside Team you could out very low on your priority if you a are run and gun team i would prefer JS=JR - but JS is easier to train and even easier to find on the TL so i think also a sligthly plus of the more flexible skill wouldn't be bad.

I agree (JR= 80%JS). And I think that similar requirement (JR=70-80% of JS) is important for SF too.

Player with JS = 10 JR = 5 is more usable than JS = 5 JR = 10.

I have 3 Guards with mostly similar skills...

A->JS=8/JR=6
B->JS=6/JR=8
C->JS=6/JR=7

Guy A takes much more shots than the other two and has a nice .300 3pt percentage..
Guy B takes very few shots and has an atrocious .185 3pt percentage..
Guy C takes more shots than B but less than A and has a solid .390 3pt percentage...

I think that the best situation is to have a balance JS/JR with JR being slightly higer than JS...High JS players seem to take most of the shots,while higher JR players have worse percentages...

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

How does driving comes into the picture? And how would you rate it (ideally...)

My guess JS = DV?

driving should be higher when you have a weak flow ;) For em it is another area of the engine.
