Can anyone explain what this is and how it works? Can't find it anywhere in the rules.

Not sure what you're talking about. You mean like the backups and reserves on the game setup screen?

Yeah sorry was pretty poorly worded.

Yes I am referring to the substitution orders. What does "let the coach decide" mean as opposed to "strictly follow the depth chart"?? Really just trying to understand how i can make sure some younger trainees get more minutes in a game rather then get replaced by the better players who take over.

Hope that makes sense?

Right. There's some words about it in the Tactics part of the Game Manual. (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/rules.aspx?nav=Tact...)

If you don't want backups or reserves who are better to play, then don't do "Let Coach Decide" and go with "Strictly Depth Chart". That way they'll never jump the guys ahead of them (not counting stamina or foul trouble).

The easiest way to get your trainees the 48 minutes they need is to play your scrimmage and have your trainee in all 3 slots (starter, backup, reserve) so that no one will be subbed in for him - unless he fouls out of course, which is rare.

Yeah the Cup brings an added dimension of managing your player's minutes. Some people just play all their starters in both league games and the Cup game, which will give them like 120 playing minutes, which is a DISASTER for their Game Shape and they will really suck in future weeks due to that. So sometimes you have to bench one or more of your starters in league games if you want to compete in the Cup and not kill your Game Shape. It's usually a good idea to bench some if you play a really weak team (or really good team!).
