What determines country rank? I'm listed at 10, but I ain't even in the NBBA. My cup runs have been okay, but nothing stellar. Obviously its based on a more complicated formula than say, HT uses.

Heck, I'm ranked #20, I shouldn't even be in the NBBA! I assume a 1st round exit from the Cup will do that to my ranking...

I'm starting to feel bad about that.

This matchup tells me there needs to be a little less "randomness" to the Cup. All Div.1-4 teams should play a Div.5 team in the 1st round! Then there's still some Div.1 teams that will play each other. The fact is, we don't want to see another 1-in-275 chance of two Div.1 teams playing each other - it's not fair to how they've earned their position.

Yes, they've earned their position in the league. So they enjoy whatever league advantages there are - higher revenues and whatnot. Why should that spill over into the cup as well? That's a completely separate competition.

I like that everyone's on a level footing for the cup. Certainly makes things more interesting.

Who says that a Div. 1 team won't be beat by a lower division team in the early rounds? Remember last season? You were beat by a Div. 4 team in the 1st round. If the 1st 2 rounds are set rounds, then the rest of the teams would be solid competition, and could make the games randomized again. The settings would be based off of your country ranking.

You like it because you won haha. It really screws you over when you lose in round 1 in the NBBA because nobody else lost until like round 4, costing me bonus money and lots of enthusiasm. And half the league is still in it even now in round 7. I've had to TIE so many more league games than I'd want to just to keep enthusiasm up with the rest of the league. I mean I'm not gonna freak out and scream at the BBs, it is what it is, but it's definitely not fair.

Um, I didn't. Thanks though.

Yep, I remember it well. Though I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Making the draw purely random puts everyone on a level footing. I fail to see the problem with that.

I lost in the first round last season and had the same disadvantages you have now. And I've had my share of earlyish matches against NBBA and II teams.
