My problem: fourth quarter collapses. Actually, my problem is not being able to find a (single?) reason for my fourth quarter collapses. My players' stamina ratings are a bell-shaped curve centered around 5 - 6 - 7. Earlier games, I sacrificed GS for training minutes, and I think that may help account for the first games, but this last one, all my players were 7 - 8 - 9. Of course, it may be as simple as the fact is that I am not as good as the teams I play -- but this fourth quarter pattern suggests to me something else may be going on.
Anyway, here are the games, and if anyone can see anything I have missed, I would greatly appreciate your observations.
1) Second and fourth period problems against one of the better teams in the league
(15479524)2) Good team, but tied after 3, at home, and he is taking it easy
(15479550)3) A counterexample, suggesting that of course all this is random: I win in overtime, overcoming a five point deficit in the fourth in an away game, he is TIE
(15479558)4) My heartbreaker: playing a comparable team, ahead by 17 at home going into the fourth, lose in overtime
(15479566)5) Lose on free throws after time has expired, after a comeback
(15479574)6) Down by one going into the fourth, lose by 15
(15479590)7) Tough game, always seemed to be behind, but kept coming back, until the last four minutes or so of the fourth period -- get outscored by eleven, lose by eleven
