Hi - just noticed a quite sizeable drop in managers this week (least i think i did) Looks like almost 2,000 managers turned inactive.

We've been hovering about the 50k mark now for a while... was wondering if there was a 'road map' to attract new managers and what that might be!

Is there plans to try and reach 100k in a certain timeframe?

that's a good idea :) .. but i dont think to reach 100k in certain time ;d... what about opening a block :D? a blog can be found in google easily.. also we can advertise it to a lot of active forums ;d! how do you find my idea ;d?

How about a "beginners cup". Within a few weeks with your new team you get a chance to enter a beginners cup (like PL, same time or another day). In this cup you get to play against other teams created within approximately the same time as yours.

I agree very good suggestion. It allows the new players to get into the game faster. Playing with their lineups a bit more and experiencing the game to hook them in.

And meet some teams on an equal terms. Winning some games early on also makes it easier to understand your team and begin to grasp the whole GE-thingy.

Exactly, and if its set up like a PL then there is no unfair added value over current teams.

One thing that must be clear about a "beginners cup" is that it can only be accessible in a limited time after registration. Both because of not undermining the supporter feature PL, and so that teams have very limited time to improve before they enter such a cup, thus undermining the whole beginner cup idea..

I think it should be an automatic enrollment once you sign up, just as how you get supporter free for a week or so.

I've gotten six people to join, and I think if they live near you the best thing to do is sit them down and show them first hand the important aspects of the site and speak with them regularly about what they should be doing. Four out of the six still play and three of them are supporters, those three all have been receptive to my suggestions and they really love the game now. Two of them may win their divisions, partly because I had them come up with a short term and long term plan, which I feel newer players don't do.

The hardest aspect for me to get over when I started is the lack of games throughout the week. I didn't understand how scrimmages worked and I wasn't very interested in my team the first month (luckily I had no PS3 or TV, just a comp). It seems like that's the case for some of the people I've spoken to, they just don't know what to do. Another gamein a cup format is a brilliant idea, and perhaps we should reach out to a new player when we see they've joined our league. A "date joined", on the team page, perhaps under country rank would help?
