i bought a 24 year old center with allstar* potential and 70k wage. bb-stat tells me his value of training is good, but i have doubts that he might have already reached his cap. i know he is old but a few outside training would be helpful. what do you think, is there a way to know if he is capped or not, of course without giving him a very slow trainiing slot?

it's just my oppinion, but i don't think allstar* are capped the same as allstar
if he was an allstar i would suggest to let him be, but i think an allstar* can improve further
pay attention that his age will also slow him down

my allstar usually start to struggle with 40k salary, and they have the star which is in my eyes clearly a normal allstar.

But they had more time to get trained over the cap, which you see in some real strong * allstars.

Actually that * means that this player exist b4 the potential system has been introduced. You will find several players with Allstar* potential with 100k salary, where have been over trained, but hardly u will find any Allstar with above 65k. I actually found only 1, and his salary was 70k. Just 1 pop up above there soft cap.

According the salary calculator, if that pop up its on the main skills of the C, then u have a player like IS 15, ID/RE 13, SB 6. That skills giving us 71k salary. If u remove 1 of the 1st 3, then u have 63K, if u remove 1 SB, then u have 67k, if we are talking about C's, at least.

By the half of the next season 1 of my trainees he will top at 70k, salary so i will have a good idea how reliable are those soft caps.

2 of my allstar* guard start "missing" their pops with ~40-42k salary(one short after the salary update, the other with calculator), i was NT coach in the season where the potential switch and i recognized less tempo in training also for my center in this area - luckily i was the only coach who plays with a lot younger high potential centerat this time who was superior with middle/beginning of their 20's to the capped allstars* with 21(who normaly get salarys betwenn 40-60 at this point).

They may have been approaching their cap but they were not fully capped yet (if it was just 1 week longer). When you have players who are fully capped, it seems to me it can be 6-7 weeks between pops, even on guys that are very young.

By the way, it seems to me that 3x tremendous Cs with a bit of SB are fully capped if they have allstar potential.

they are never fully capped, but if you mean 14+ weeks with just one pop, i could tell you this is possible below 50k ;) Even with mainlyJS and driving train, which gives you normally lots of pops-
