Hi guys,

I've searched around but haven't seen any answers about this issue: how long will it takes before i get pops from my players if i train them as a team for passing? Even rough estimates will be great! Just weighing options if i should train my bigs as PG/SG or as a team, whichever is faster..

Thanks in advance!

I've never tried it before but I would estimate it to be at least 7-8 games. Ofcourse age, height, trainer. sublevels, etc will affect this.

Hmm don't really see how u can estimate something u havn't tried. There would have to be some basis for an answer.

I did this in my first season because I was an idiot. Trained outside D for two weeks and I think I got two pops (none on bigs, both on my short 18 year old guards) with a level 4 trainer. OD trains at about 75% of the speed of passing on PG and PG/SG, so you can try to do some rough math with that. In general terms it's safe to say that team training non-FT/ST skills is not at all efficient.

You're unlikely to find anyone who can provide a systematic answer to your question because team training the non-ft/st skills is so slow that no one who cares about training speed enough to document it is going to waste her/his time on such an inefficient training regime.

I have similar thoughts if i had a big man i wanted to get passing i would probably just play him a full game at PG in the scrimmage and do 1 postion training. Be better to keep training his big man skills then do team training in passing in my opinion.

You don't have to do something to be able to estimate the results. You can take data from other training regimen and make a guess as to the likely answer.

and what "other training regimen" are you going to use??

As mentioned no active owner is going to ever do team training for a skill. It takes forever and is inefficient and hence no one will even bother documenting it.

If you look at the training speed analysis, training speed for team training is missing for a reason....no one is gonna screw up a whole season of training just to find out.

Agree with Aussie Pride with this. I have a few big men myself which I had to train HN earlier this season. I cut their minutes down during the season games and gave them a whole 48 minutes at PG for the scrimmage to make sure my gameshape remains good. This is the best way to go about it.

Although I don't think it's profitable compared to training fewer players (only my guess), it would be interested to know your experiences with this should you go for a full season of team passing training. I guess it also could be applied to team training of other skills that take roughly the same time as passing (based on the training speed analysis of fewer trained positions).

If there's any truth to the hints and tips found on the forums and rules (and I like to think there is) I would however recommend that you train fewer players (2 positions or less), and circulate your training. Word is you'll see faster improvement for players that are kept about even in the skills that are relevant for the players position.

Did you read my post that I said it was an estimate? Did you read anything in my post that said it was the most efficient? Do you know what an estimate means?

I didn't really get the estimate in the first place. What does 7-8 games actually mean. Does it mean about 3 weeks as theres 3 games a week or was it a mistake.

To do team training is a waste of time. Players get their MAXIMUM training at 48 minutes. So, you would have to play players 48 minutes a week for four to five weeks to get a pop. Better to do two-position training with a lvl 4/5 trainer. Pop much faster.
