I couldn't find this info anywhere so here goes:

What happens if i screw my minutes up for a week but decide to train game shape? Does the training override the dodgy minutes or do they cancel each other out or is one calculated then the other?

Obviously quite a few scenarios could play out so just wondering if anyone knows exactly what happens if my players get say 80+ minutes for the week but Game Shape is trained.

well it depends on the player, and how good/old they are. If you have a young kid who trains well he may experience a pop and a bit, but if you have an old player that doesnt train well he may just go down.

However with all stats its not just 5 or 6 it ranges from 5.0 to 5.9 then 6, so even if your player doesnt experience a pop, their decimal point will probably have increased.

if your player is only going to drop one level in their game shape i would expect training it to just cancel out.

As far as i know, age doesnt effect game shape like it does with your regular game skills. I'm not sure this really answered my questions anyway but thanks for the reply.

i don't know either but i assume training an old players game shape would be the same as training any other skill and therefore harder.

correct me if i'm wrong

If i had to take an educated guess i would think that training Game Shape, Stamina or FT wouldn't be affected by age

papags, you probably want to be sure of what you're saying in the Help forums when offering advice or at least prefice it with an "in my opinion" or "I'm not sure but...." or something like that or you may end up confusing a lot of other newer users.

When you're a new user yourself who probably doesn't have all of the ins and outs of the game just yet this is probably even more important.

Love the activity though :)

haha thanks

anyway did you get the answer you were looking for?

its a complicated one i think, as you obviously know with older players its harder to train them in anything, i dont think game shape would be different.

Also this late in the season i don't think you really need to worry about game shape unless you are certain it will drop or you want it to raise for the next game. Cause as you may know there is a game shape reset coming up soon according to the off-season schedule.

i would suggest training something else that may make a bigger difference in the final game

You'd be surprised how much of a difference good game shape can make actually. I dont really have any problems with game shape at the moment but it is an option i could go with for the finals to get a little extra edge or could be an option to fix any potential problems i could have if my starters play heavy minutes in the Semi and first game of the Finals (if i get past the Semi tonight) so just want to cover all my bases hence the original question.

Thats what i wanted to tell papags just couldn't find the right words lol. Its all about how u deliver the answer . If your sure about an answer u can just say such and such works like this. But if your not confident your correct make it reflect in your answer. I agree it is good to see someone so enthusiastic on the forums.

i would say, that GS training should be more powerful then bad minutes. I don't have much experience with it, ok i have none experience with it. But the cup final last season in germany, both teams trains gameshape before the match and there was only one player without 9er game shape in both roosters.(he had strong)

I think minutes are still deciding factor and game shape helps a bit (and when such a training is used, the manager probably seeks every bit of an advantage he can get, so it can be still good for him). I guess it is a huge help to get players to respectable from below and smaller help - only sublevels roughly when you are aiming for proficient. From the info I gathered, which is of course still a small margin.
