If I understand correctly. I cannot build a team from drafting. Because i wont be able to train all my players. Is this correct?

You can train all your players, it is just very ineffective. You are much better off training a select few(one position). You will increase the skills faster and end up with better overall players. If you need help getting started be sure to ask. Training is VERY important here and is the difference between winning and losing.

I would be happy to help, just PM me. Otherwise continue to ask questions. There are lots of great Canadian owners who would be able to give good advice.

I dont see training as important anymore if the best strategy is training only 1 player. I see that shopping on the market as being more important.

I think you misunderstood what he said. He said a good strategy is to train 1 position, which usually means training 3 players. Some people also effectively train 2 positions (but I hope you do not do this if you have a U21 prospect!).

Shopping on the market can bring you some money, but the system is set up so that the returns are diminishing. Training players can bring a good profit and it also makes your team better at the same time. My trainees (and former trainees) are my biggest assets at the moment. Although, I am not very good at finding deals on the market.

Personally, and this is just my opinion (I might be biased here), I would sell Feeney Cashmore if I was you. He is a good U21 potential but I just do not think you have the resources at the moment to train him properly. You could use the money to set up a great training program plus get a decent trainer.

Also, if you think your team will do poorly this season, invest in draft scouting and hope you get another player like him next season, when you are in a better position to train a high level talent like him.

How do you shop the market without effectively training players to sell to generate income? Even the best day traders seem to buy with the intention of training a level or two to push the price before flipping. You just can't generate enough money from gate, merch and TV to buy a whole roster of high level players.

There are only two training programs that train your whole team - stamina and free throws. While I can see how either would be useful every now and then, neither are for long-term training.

Maybe you meant 3 position training? This is the training program that will net the least amount of money per week that you train. Well, some people say you can make money this way by skill trading (buying a player off the transfer list, giving him 2-3 pops, then selling him), but I suspect that's not what you meant. If you go this route, you will never train a top level player.

I can see the reason for training 2 positions, it is easier to balance your minutes and still makes you a good amount of money. Plus you can usually field a more competitive line-up. Three position training or doing team training all the time is just a waste.

It is a game where you have to make decisions to optimize your team. If you always want to compare it to real life, you will definitely but disappointed.
