I managed to advance to a third league and it seems I will be losing most of the games this season.

Since I'm still quite a noob, I wonder how to go on now. I have saved some money, approx. 2 Mio. Should I put this into a bigger arena or get some better players?

Also, I was training guards with jump shot. Should I try to balance training to get multiskilled players or train JS all the way. And when should I cash in on my trainees?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

i was in your situation. (still am, for that matter.) i think you prioritize around one goal: win the relegation match. this frees you up to manipulate enthusiasm and training. you will take a hit (probably) on fan enthusiasm, so lower ticket prices and watch expenses. train your weaknesses -- you will not be competing with the best teams, either with individual players or collectively as a team, for some time. and always remember your goal is to (1) avoid an 8th place finish and (2) be able to beat a team in the other division who is likely to finish 6th/7th.

for my money, this situation is when the game became fun.

I agree in what Hassan saying, but also scoring is good but without D, u cant win. Balance for every player is a key. JS/OD/SR/PA, and some HA. Those are the key skills for a good guard. My German PG/SG has only 35k salary but he was the MVP last season, and a Key player for 1 championship and 1 cup.

Anyway for u r money. Yeap i think that u have expand u r arena NOW. Check whats the average on u r league and try to go there.

Thanks both of you, this is really helpful. So I will adjust my training, expand my arena and try to win relegation.

I would mostly agree with you here. I am in this situation myself having won 2 promotions in 2 seasons. I now find myself the weakest team in the league. The one thing I don't quite agree is lowering ticket prices.

For the original poster's situation, his arena is only roughly 5000 seats. Increasing prices to maximize revenue would be a much better plan than to cut prices due to low fan ratings in a tougher competition. Being in a higher division also increase your fan base/support to counter the negative effect of constantly losing games. This would have saved him some cash from doing a lot of arena expanding in one go which he can use to get a better player to help him compete.

With that said a combination of expanding arena and raising prices is the way to go to take advantage of the high fan base. He can still play around with the ticketing prices once his arena finishes building and can gather if he is filling it out or not.
