My opinion is that a player's likelihood to foul depends on a number of factors:

1. His relevant defence skill
2. His opponent's offensive skills
3. His experience and stamina
4. The current state of the game

but this does not take offensive fouls into account, but they are much less frequent than fouls on defence.

My preferred starting SF (respectable outside and inside defence, average experience) has only given up one foul in 176 minutes of play. To contrast, another of my players tends to foul out on a regular basis when playing (inept outside defence, awful inside defence, average experience), commiting 49 fouls in 348 minutes.

Plus, if your team is trailing in the 4th quarter, it will start fouling your opponents worst FT shooter to get extra possessions.

my SF (pitiful outs. Def) is only having 1.1 fouls per game

one of my guards is strong in outs. Def, he is having 3.5 fouls per game
another Guard is only average in outs. def, but he is having 1 foul per game...

I think you should say fouls/minute

it is only logic that a player who plays 40 min per games has averaged more fouls than a player who plays only 5 minutes per game...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
