Correction: They are not the only ones... You got 8th placed teams too...

But either way it sucks...

True, but you kind of deserve to get the worst of everything if you finish 8th.

or it means that you need the most help, if you're the weakest ;-)

I see what you're saying, but I don't think BB should reward teams by giving them some benefit because they got 5th place. The loss of playoff money isn't really their fault, since you had all season to fight your way into the top 4. And I do believe last season they gave 5th and 8th place teams extra scrimmages so that their training would be equal to playoff teams (I'm not sure of this, can anyone confirm?)

That being said, I'd hate to see this become like HT where people intentionally tank to get 6th/7th place in order to get full training and a best of 3 playoff series. I do think it's kind of BS that 6th/7th place teams get at least two games (and maybe 3), meanwhile 2 of the top 4 teams could be done after one game if it doesn't go their way.

Then again, right now playoff money isn't a HUGE advantage economically. But I would like to see some money given to the team that promotes as a reward for winning the series, an incentive to promote, and incentive for teams not to sandbag for 6th/7th.

Then it's a great time to train your team in free throw shooting or stamina- things that you don't need the 48 minutes in order to improve.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

I think the position reflect exactly what you get. You are not good enough for the playoffs and you are a bit better than the worst teams and therefore you are rewarded of NOT being relegated.

yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present."
