I am in my first full season and I think I have a pretty decent team (for div V and such short time). At least my player salaries are high up in my league but I can't seem to win the games that I should. Every game I lose seems to have a different problem.

I was wondering what I can do different to start winning games. (tactics? training? new players?) I still have hopes to play well and move up to div IV next season.

Thanks

Might be worth getting a couple more players i think its hard to control game shape with only 10 players.

I feel like I should be running over my opponents too.

1) I have only played CT twice this season and each time I have I played TIE for one or two games before. Apart from that I always play normal.

2) I am and have been scouring the TL looking for a few more worthwhile players to help me spread out the minutes for game shape.

3) I think my players are good, at least better than I can see on the TL for similar salaries. They have good basic abilities but a few of them have poor passing and handling. (But do I want to train my C and PF in handling and passing? Would handling and passing slow me down that much?) Maybe an increase in stamina could help.

4) I will try other tactics to see if I can got the best out of my players. I just am a stickler for disciplined teams that run a good offense like Princeton but maybe my team isn't ready for it yet.

5) I will stick it out. If I don't move up this season I will the next.

One more question, If I win the playoffs can I still move up even if I don't have the best record?

Winner of your league always moves up (unless your already in the top league), other teams could possibly get promoted when bots are removed from higher divisions. The extra guys u pick up don't have to be very good they can be low wage guys u just play in scimmages to help u manage the minutes of your main guys.

In D5, a good team don't need to use CT in regular season period.

Strengthen your def and passing, it's easy for u to move up to D4.

Remember, keep your team in good condition and a high enthusiasm(above 8)

This is just my first full season, so i'm no expert, but this is my advice. If anyone disagrees, i'm open to criticism.

1) re TIE: i'm in Div V and after the first game, i've been blowing everyone out while taking it easy. once your enthusiasm gets up there it's as good as playing normal all the time and you will have enthusiasm saved up for big games. I plan on TIE every game in the regular season.

2/3) Re TL: if your guys are getting a ton of minutes, make sure your trainees are spread out and getting the 60-80 min or whatever at those positions, then i would just buy some cheap junk players to plug into the positions you arent training during your scrimmages. since wins are irrelevant in scrimmages, and you arent training those positions, then it shouldn't hurt anything.

4) definitely try out difft tactics. your team may not be ready for your favorite tactics, but it's something you can look forward to as you build the team the way you want it!

5) Please do. Don't give up!

I wanted to thank those that posted here and helped me get on the right track. After this I went 19-1 and I just won the finals.

So for all those new players, look at these posts they contain everything you need to promote in the lower divisions.

I'd like to add my thanks, also. This was very helpful to me, also, back in December, when I was just starting.

All this reading paid off........

Went 22-0 regular season and then held off a very good team to win the title in three. Not bad considering I spent a total of $28,000 on my four starter/backup guards.

Looks like I was the only team TIE'ing during the season, and that gave me a big edge against the other top two teams. And I managed not to screw things up in the playoffs.

Finally got control of myself on the Transfer List, and stopped adding players. Reduced the squad to 12. Two position trained the best players on my initial squad (two 19yo at C/PF).

Thanks for the help!
