Hey guys. Well I just sold my two top players and I now have 1.7 mil. (yay) But i don't quite know what to do with it. Arena expansion is not an option. Just what kind of player do I need. Where should his salary be around? What position? How tall? What skills should he specialize in?

If you're training guards why not use the money to upgrade your bigs? (C, PF, maybe SF) The skills depend on your preference / tactics you like to use. With 1.7 mil, plus the money you shall make with the players you have on the market you will have plenty to choose from. Word of advice, keep an eye out for free agents on the TL. Sometimes solid players fly under the radar of bigger teams and smaller teams (like me!) end up stealing them for real bargains.

You may also consider picking up another trainee or two (under 20 preferably)

I'll see if I can help as I was probably in a similar position as you recently.

Quick questions first:
- What are your goals? Short term? Long term?
- What are you training? How many trainees do you have? How long are you planning on keeping them for?
- Do you have a preference about how you want your team to play?
- Among your current players where are you strong?

re: Arena
You're doing it wrong.
Reduce those prices asap so you can actually sell some bleacher seats, buy at least six luxury boxes, one hundred more courtside seats and one or two hundred lower bowl seats.

So I am avoiding getting any real writing done and decided to look at your team somewhat closely.

I am assuming that:
1) you're looking to promote to Div. II in the next few seasons but are mostly just looking to make the playoffs this season. (I can't see you winning your league with your current roster)
2) You're training guards, one position.
3) You're not specifically training NT/U21 players.
My advice is based on those assumptions.

- The first* thing I would do is pick up two more young guards to train. I would make them short term prospects who you want to train a bit and flip before the start of next season when you can get good 18 year olds at the start of the season. Since it's short term I would look for players with "respectable" in the skills you want to train so you can get it into strong+ territory fast.

- Next I would invest in expanding the pricey seats in the arena and bringing down those bleachers prices as I outlined above.

- Third, if you have any money left would be to improve in the positions you're not training. General things to look for would be to look for strong+ ID/OD players between 24 and 31. Defense is king, particularly in the lower divisions since no one has decent flow, outside D is more important than ID in my opinion. Slightly older players will cost you less and you'll hopefully be upgrading them before they start to lose stats due to age. If you can get Canadian players that's even better as it will help with your merch sales.

Those are some general tips, but I don't know the details of your team or your goals.

* Well really the first thing I would do is follow Beanz's advice and report that transaction. It seems super sketchy since someone just signed up with a new account in the same country as you, bid all their money on a low value player and isn't doing anything else, and if I wasn't giving you the benefit of the doubt I'd say it looks like you're behind it. But I am giving you the benefit of the doubt so I'd just report it if I were you.

Well I'm sorry but i sorta meant what kinda player should i get like i need a good player and i just want you guys to tell me what kind of player would benifet my team the most. I am very stuck on Roy and can't really see myself training anyone else at the moment. I plan on training him up to about 26-27. And I do know that that will be very ineffective but my long term goal is to make him maybe the greatest Canadian shooting guard. Could you please answer the following questions?

1) What position of player i get?

2) What should his salary be at?

3) Could you just tell me what his skills should be at roughly just what i should look for. ie: Jump shot: prolific+ Rebounding: tremendous.

Again very sorry about wasting your time on that write up it's just I have already invested over 1 million in my arena. I think
I should actually start trying to improve my team. And by the way I don't mind spending all my money on this player. As long as he is somewhat good and remember no trainiees please.

1) Well Roy is a small guy so you can train up to 6 small guys at a time. Have Roy+ 2 long term candidates, and 3 short term (sell after a season) candidates.

2-3) Ignore salary...18years at least starter potentiality, Respectable in OD, JR, and at least Average/Mediocre in JS, PS, HN
Buy 5 of them

Now it will take more than 1 season of course to make anyone of these five any good, but then it is a question of cost management. If you have the money buy 19 years old with respectable to proficient in all small guys skill and everything will go faster.

Anyway training just 1 single player is like driving a porsche on the first gear.

Just because you want to train Roy does not mean that you can't train other players, too. If you're one position training him then you can get 48 minutes for two other players. Buy more players at the same position as him, and then either keep them around or sell them to buy more, better players. This will not have a negative effect on Roy's training.
If you're hoenstly trying to turn him into a NT level shooting guard then you should definitely buy other trainees to train alongside him.

re: Arena
You improperly invested in it. Your current arena situation is a waste but you can redeem it.

What you're asking depends on what you want to do. If he's getting a lot of time at PG then there's no point in buying an older PG, but if he's getting a lot of Jump Range training then it might make sense to get him a guard.
This also depends on what you want to do in the long term. If the goal is to try to make Roy a scorer then getting him some defensive, rebounding and PG help should be the priority.

My suggestion would be to get an older (24-29 year old) centre with strong or proficients ID and rebounding, and decent secondaries (particularly passing) so that he doesn't end up taking a lot of shots. I would also invest in some good defenders at the other spots, and in the long term look at getting a defensive/pass first PG.
