Small Forwards are supposed to be trained highly in looking like a "BIG SHOOTING GUARD" mostly shooting guard skills plus a bit of Big Men Stuff....

But then again... BB rates MUCH HIGHER Small Forwards with mostly BIG MEN skills.

I've seen this with a couple of teams I've played against - and now as a NT manager I have added to my lineup a guy that usually plays as a SF, but who BB defines as a PF.... his ratings at SF? An impressive 14. He doesn't have much other than jump shot and inside shot (nothing impressive really)... why could that be? How does BB REALLY define a SF? Why does it say certain skills are more important when in the end, other skills give this player such a high rating (higher that better payed SF even).

Anyone? Wild guesses?

I BELIEVE I have.... but then again I don't get what you really meant... I wouldn't understand if you are being sarcastic or something...

Maybe I haven't read through something - but that does not mean I should get such an answer, I am in my right to be ignorant :) and any kind soul might wanna help me out...

Anyway - I take it you are impling that the SF has changed... I will read things through... and, if by any chance someone might wanna answer with something that contributes to my seemingly ignorant doubt, I would be very thankful.

The forums have been flooded with people complaining that the game engine is way imbalanced towards the outside game, I was just stunned that you hadn't noticed any of that, not that you're ignorant or anything.

I believe my question still stands after reading the newbie help forum...

Small Forward
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense
(2) Handling, Passing, Driving
(3) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(4) Rebounding

YUP -

A player with only 2 skills over level 10 training (JS 11 - IS 14), 2 with level 8 training (ID and Rebound) getting a 13 or 13.5 rating is impressive (all of this other skills are: 2 at level 7, and all others below)...

He DOES HAVE level 9 Stamina... could that be it!?

Unless that's been updated somewhat recently, it's probably outdated since the new GE was rolled out.

you'll find that in the "newbie help thread", with some other curious player distributions.

It is still there - newbie help thread - so - I guess it should still stand, but, for what GM-Juice says - I have missed some changes maybe?

Hmmm... well... the game engine changed, but then again - the game "outside design" or "looks" (newbie thread, when searching for a SF in the trade area) suggest otherwise...

Spaghetti incident on my head going on...

i didn't like this part of the thread since it is released, generally it rates defence pretty low in comparision to the majority of the player(or at least then who participate in this discussions). Blocking for centers and IS for Guards are jokes in my eye.

Would it be wise to change the out of date stuff. The older managers have adapted and now create players based on their own knowledge but for the thousands of new managers joining they surely will start out by copying the various guides. It seems unfair that they will have to stumble early on into the threads where more experienced managers are slowly disproving what has been told to them before OR because the game has evolved and the rules aren't being kept up to date to advise of the changes.
