During my last game, I had the same settings as always, in order to maximize training. I select 9 players, filling in all positions double, with only 1 player for the PG position. I set my orders to strictly follow depth chart, let them play. That way, the starters on sg/sf/pf/c get a reserve and a back-up which they aren't themselves. Only for the pg I let the starter play the entire game. Now during my last game (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/18110927/reportmatch.as...) I ordered that the same way as any previous game. But my pg was subsituted. I know there are possibilities that it might happen, however those are:
Player being injured.
Player fouling out.
Player being assessed a second technical.
Player receiving a flagrant foul, thus technical foul.

However, none of this was the case, so I am quite curious how this is possible?

i would guess stamina problem? your coach decided that armandarez will play better at that position than hieltjes, because hieltjes was tired at that moment, while wieland didnt need to rest.

If that is true, what is the meaning of a strictly follow depth chart in this situation? The coach should strictly follow it. Changing the substution pattern is the opposite of that.

as i understand coach AI is very complex and changing or tweaking something would take lots of time and testing. so far this AI is working good and things like that doesn't happen a lot if you give the right numbers for coach's AI to operate.

the way i see it, we do not have control over the game, so we just give orders and how it will be carried out is for coach to decide. sometimes things go wrong, as it could in real life.
