i am curious -- why would all-star games be such spectacular offensive shows? i can understand it for real life, where a bunch of talented folks are showboatin' like they are back on the courts in the city -- but for our game engine, which presumably is not subject to such fits of emotionality, why would very good players -- and this means very good defensive players -- suddenly, collectively, predictably come together and score 300 points in a game. Does this indicate the game engine lets great offenses trump good or great defenses? or is it something else?

There has been some talk that this game is perhaps played with a different game engine: better shooting and virtually no fouls, but who knows? You are definitely correct though—there seems to be little defense!
