3 games to go, where is everyone standing? Let's start with the Big 8 where things are more straightforward. I'm calling the 4 playoff teams are set and they're just jockeying for position. Raleigh is the 4 seed for sure. Hoofhearted with the lowest point differential will have a hard time getting out of 3rd, they would need to win out and have Deronimo drop one or Liburn two (one of which is against Hoofhearted). Don't see that happening. So will Deronimo be able to overtake Liburn for the one seed? Liburn has two away games remaining against playoff teams. In the other half of the Big 8, Osceola is resigned to relegation after 7 years in II.2. Decidicals are locked into the 7-spot. There's still the race for 5th and out of the relegation series. With the mysterious meaning of the asterisk still unknown, it very well may come down to the final game of the season with Green Flash hosting Pittsburgh.

Now onto the Great 8. Everyone's guess is as good as any other. Blackstone is guaranteed relegation, Soulja Boyz the 7-seed. That was the easy part. The other 6 teams each have 2 games remaining against playoff contenders. Googily is certainly in the driver's seat with a point differential 200 greater than anyone else. And because of that tiebreaker I'm declaring them having clinched a playoff spot. After that the highest differential is Wahoo with 166, and the lowest is Meridian with 107, all right in the same area. Wahoos are looking in good shape, they would probably need to drop all three games to miss the playoffs, and I don't see that happening. But they can certainly lose the 1st round home game. After that there's not much more to analyze - or if it were to be analyzed would take way too long with so many possible scenarios. Everyone holds their own fate in their own hands. Win 2 of your final 3 and you'll probably make the playoffs, anything less and you may need help.

So who has predictions? Will Liburn be able to hold off Deronimo - or even Hoofhearted - for the one spot in the Big 8? Who are the four teams that will make the playoffs in the Great 8? I held of making any predictions here, that'll be later. I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks.

The playoff race on our side is very complicated, and just about anything could happen. My prediction is this, mark it in stone.

There are two different 3 team swings that will develop the next week. You have NY Wahoos, That One Team, Big Bucks and Soulja Boyz playing against each other, and Unstoppables, Meridian, Blackstone and Googily all playing each other. Unstoppables play on the road against Meridian and me, but have an easy win over Blackstone. I predict them to beat Meridian on the road but losing to me. Meridian must then beat me in order to have a shot. IF they do that, both teams will have gone 2-1 in the final 3 games.

Now on to the other teams. NY Wahoos plays on the road against TOT and BB, leaving them a minimal chance at winning both games unless there is more enthusiasm involved. I predict both losses. 1-2 for NY. TOT has NY at home and BB on the road. I predict a 2-1 finish beating NY and Soulja. BB has both NY and TOT at home. Very high chance of winning all 3 games making them 3-0. That'll move BB up to 2nd seed, with TOT moving into a solid 3rd place.

If it pans out like this, Unstoppables and Meridian wont have a shot at the playoffs, but if I'm wrong with anything, and say Big Bucks or That One Team loses 2 games, then possibly both Unstoppables and Meridian might could make it.

This is a difficult one to predict, definitely will be interesting to watch play out.

Since MCM and BB both beat me I think they'll make the playoffs. They must be the best Great 8 teams to have beaten Deronimo right? Leaving 2 spots for Googily and whoever wins the TOT/NY game. And in the Big 8, it all comes down to what the Luchadors do on the road at HI.

Ha. For completely different reasons than Hokied's, I also came up with BB and MCM making the playoffs. I had to go game by game in that conference and decided with my very non-expert methods this will be the final standings:

Googily Dolls
NY Wahoos
THE BIG BUCKS
Meridian Hill McMornings
That One Team
Unstoppables

Bulletin board material for any teams that feel slighted? I'm also going to say Deronimo #1, Liburn #2 and Hoofhearted #3 in the Big 8. Not saying I'll beat Liburn, but I think they lose one against either Raleigh or me while Deronimo wins out. And I'm giving the tiebreaker coin flip to Deronimo. That's so close it could go either way.

Love the chatter... feeling saucy? Je ne sais pas.

I was feeling good about my team until BB rocked me at my place last week... a real wake-up call. That must have happened because of high E... which is why a nice cup run always helps. Anyway. I feel just fine right now, as worst case scenario for the McMornings is a relegation series w/ HCA against Deicidicals. Problem with that is that everyone besides Googily is in this boat with me... row you a**holes row!

I think it will fall out like this:

Googily Dolls
NY Wahoos
THE BIG BUCKS
Meridian Hill McMornings
That One Team
Unstoppables

too I guess I should add since I just pasted it again....

Haha I'm glad you guys don't think I'm gonna make the playoffs.. I was gonna play for relegation and give meridian the 5th spot and let the rest duke it out for the 4th place seed but maybe I'll play for the playoffs to prove you guys wrong. I beat meridian once, I can do it again.

I'll make my plans after your game at Googily....

but the big swing game for me in this final stretch is NY at TOT. Tomorrow night. Let's see some action. Like I said before, we've all got a sweet landing despite the heights to which we aspire. The rest is pride.

Well. im pushing for NY. Check the center they are bidding on for 7.5m.... outrageous i tell you.

eeek he got him... i'd feel like a dick if I shared his stats, but i'll just say he's gonna be one high paid center next season. Only reason I didnt' go for him.
Look out league.

Time to get a definitive answer about the ramifications of that asterisk. I'd rather not worry about the last couple matches.
