I'd always assumed that the draft order went by playoff seed, or by depth of playoff run. I checked an old season though, and you're right, it goes straight to wins and differential.

I don't see much incentive for ChiTown to deviate from her norm. Because she's in the playoffs, she needs to get minutes on all of her players for GS, and she won't be able to do it all on saturday and thursday. In any case, mid-round 1 draft picks usually suck. The difference in expected resale value for picks like those can't vary by more than a few 10k, and future attendance boosts from a win or two could probably make that up. If her starters need minutes, I bet they'll get them tonight and not thursday.

In other situations the lure of tanking could be huge. If someone were locked into an 8 seed and had a chance to go from the 2nd to 1st pick, I wouldn't fault them for buying five 900-salary players. Considering that cases like that can happen, I'm with you. A lottery would be a very good thing.

Interesting stuff. I agree you gotta look out for yourself, forget everyone else's problems.

Some interesting end of season races here involving most teams. Bulls/KDB, the 3rd-6th place race in my division, and the 5th-8th race in the Big 8. Hell, I don't even know what position I WANT to end up at.

1 - not really, i think just like in real life teams will do whats best at the end of the season if the results dont matter. Sitting stars, shutting down injured players, trading good players for expiring contracts, etc; all those can make a difference. Schedules in BB just like in real life have some luck in the draw.

2 - even if you had lots of great info on the players you still arent assured that one top potential player is better then another. Seems to be random enough that it's not worth tanking for a draft pick.

3 - i know she's trying to sell a player or two while the market is high. While it's unlikely she can win a first round game she might as well tie and get players in GS/training to give it a go. Nothing to lose really, maybe get lucky and pick myself/Bulls trying to get by with a PON.

Sharon will TIE both of her games and try to get training for her players.

I know I will get trounced in the playoffs, so what's the point. I invested in scouting as I thought I would be getting first pick (didn't think I would win a game except against the Vikings. I was going to crunch time his ass, but by the time we played, I was actually in a good position). I think I will still be able to get a decent player from the draft.

I think two of my players salaries jumping up to encompass 400k a week at the beginning of the year kinda changed the name of the game for me this year. My whole team does not cost as much as those guys did, so if you had crunch timed it would have been a moral victory over a very different team. Oh and not securing a decent backup for Koby has left him in crappy game shape most of the season, lets not forget that on my list of "why I am an idiot"
