then your order will stay in the
player #1
player #2
Player #3
ETC..
It will stay in the same order as you found it and you will draft in that order

then during the offseason processing, you'll get the draftee's in the order of your original scouted draft...

so if you don't submit it, then it will consider the order you 'want' as the order that it was scouted by.

that means that player 1 will be your first pick, player 2 will be your second one, player 3 will be your third one, and so on...

whereas in most cases, you'll drag the players you want ( and hope) to draft to the first position. in that case your first pick ( if available ofcourse) will be player 27, your second player 5 and your 3rd pick player 12

(this example, assumting you submitted player 27, player 5 and player 12 as your top 3 of the entire list, and assuming that nobody else drafted them)

but i wouldn't see any reason for not submitting a draft order...

Since you can 'submit' your list any number of times to change your mind on your order or w/e, not really sure why you wouldn't submit either... but I guess you might have asked for other reasons, like to see what other inactive teams would do.

your players 1 isn't necessairily player 1 in antoher team... scouting is done random by the scouts, so if you got 2 players wit identical potential, age skill rating, etc, you still can't be sure it's that guy ( only exception could be if you got a 5 ball, A+, 5 ball pot, 18 year old in both draft orders, but then the first one will most likely pick that guy anyway, especially if you both scouted 2 guy's...)

so it won't help you in predicting what a bot will draft... it won't provide you any info on what a bot ( or someone else) might submit as draft order...

The reason I was asking was because in my division there are a number of teams that pick before me, but most of these teams are inactive, and so I was wondering what will happen if they don't submit their draft. I guess I'm hoping that as the majority of teams aren't going to submit the draft, and many teams are new and so won't see much of the draft, that even though I finished very high in the standings that I still get my draft pick preferences in the top 4 or 5 picks.

i get your point now. and i think i understand what you are thinking.

yet, remember this:
you should always submit the draftorder that shows what you would like to draft (at the top of the list, those who you want to pick first, at the bottom, those who you'd rather not draft at all). cause if a player is drafted before it was your turn, then you'll get the next guy on your list. if he's not available, then the guy after, and so on... till their is a free guy on your list. that is the best way to get a good draft (also draft what you need, or if you don't find anything suitable, draft for what you can sell on the TL later on, and with that money, you could get a nice draftee/player afterwards)

so during the draft, forget about what your opponents might draft. just focus on what you want to draft, and if you are lucky you'll get some nice players... you can consider the draft as a lotery. the only difference is here you know which numbers are the winning ones, you only don't know in which order they will be drawn.

i wish you alot of luck with your draft, and hopefully, you'll get some nice draftee's. but as mentioned, it really is a lotery. and if you have a bad draft, then you should worry to much, cause their will be a dumping on the TL just after the draft...

Just depends on the luck of the draw you have to hope that the random allocation of player numbers didn't put the good players at the top of the inactive managers list. Hope it works out its a waste when great players go to bot/inactive teams.

Yeah I ordered the draft list in the order I wanted from top to bottom, I have a fairly good draft I think, I didn't spend much on scouting, but from what I can see I have 14 players with 4 or 5 balls in their Star Rating for skills. And I have 2 players that are 5/4 in skills/potential and 1 player that is 4/4 in skills/potential so I hope to get one of these and that would be great :D

I ordered my list irrespective of what I thought my opponents might do, I was just curious whether it would scout in a particular order, or would they just pick randomly like bots do.

Cheers for all the info.

one thing with regard to 'new' teams i have never seen proof of it but i believe that new teams get their spending averaged out for the whole season

let me explain

i was new last season and at the end of the season tried to add up my scoutings and while close it didnt add up

but if i added the extra weeks i wasnt playing and kept the same spending average it did add up

i would love someone to confirm this but i cant really remember how many 'free' scoutings you get - it was 3 months ago but i think i remember 14 (if not then 16 or 18)

so if my theory is correct you could have a new team pop up for one week spend 40k and have the benefit of having spent 40k for the entire season

am i right
