What does the skill blocking exactly do? Only blocking shots or also making a screen for the shooter to get of a good shot?

It's just for shot blocking. Setting screens is not included.

Thank you. Do you now if there is any skill that makes screens or is it not in the game at all?

No, there's no skill such as "screen making". As for not being in the game at all, only the BBs can know that. It may or may not be somehow included in the game processing formula...what we know is we, as users, have no impact on that even if it is included.

Does shot blocking increase the number of missed shots, or is it merely a calculation that assigns a blocked shot to a player after the game engine has already determined the shot was missed?

I don't think I quite understand what you are asking...but increasing Shot Blocking skill increases the chance of one of your players blocking one of your opponents shots and so this means that the opponent will make less shots. So higher shot blocking skill means more missed shots.

If it just assigned it to a player after a shot was missed, then there would be no point in having a shot blocking skill.

That is exactly what I am trying to ascertain. Many basketball games, both computer and boardgame varieties, first decide if a shot is missed and only then do a routine to see if a blocked shot should be assigned to a player. As you correctly observed, this after-the-fact assignment is rather pointless.

That's what I'm trying to learn--can anyone say for sure that the shot blocking skill results in more misses for the opponents and not just a tick mark in the shot block stat column.

If it is only a stat gathering function, then I'm not going to bother training shot blocking.

I highly doubt it would simply be a stat gathering function. That would just be stupid lol. I certainly hope it isn't. I guess only a BB could comment.

shot block results in either more block shots or more altered shots thus causing more missed shots.
more importantly though is the questions
is it worth the added salary? and is it better then just putting the same stats into inside def?

I agree. Stick with ID and eventually you will get a SB bump as well. I look at players with good SB skill as just a bonus but I don't plan on training it very often.

No matter where you go, there you are.
