It seems odd that the staff salaries are so high relative to the team salaries.

So far, I have not had many options on choosing staff - mainly level 1 or 2 doctors and pr guys vs. a couple level 9 trainers.

I'm paying $38k for these three (lvl 2 doc, lvl 9 trainer (started at 10) and level 5 pr) vs $28k for my 11 players on the team.

Maybe the players salaries skyrocket once they get better - but it seems the staff is a bit too high...

Guess I never really thought about it but it does seem staff salaries are a bit high. Maybe the staff can get paid every two weeks. Then again a position like trainer, is an important job and may warrant the high pay.

Remember that all of the players are relatively new, and once players mature skill-wise, they will be making more than they do now.

And hopefully we'll all be making more money too, because if not, a lot of teams are going to go bankrupt!

Well at the moment the game (and players) are fairly young so a lot of the ratings are on the lower side of the scale and if i understand things properly, a players salary depends on his rating to a certain degree.

At the moment the highest rating i've seen is 'proficient' and if we look at the ratings table below, that isn't even half way towards max.

So i imagine that in the future the player salaries will be a fair bit higher.

That said though, i do agree that the staff salaries are a bit too high -for the moment- anyway. Perhaps in a couple more seasons those numbers will be about right but a bit of a decrease wouldn't be bad for now i don't think.

well from my point of view the staff salaries are fine. my economy is booming.

it is all about earning money to create other ways to earn money.

two big money earners right now are arena upgrades and player training/trading

Well your economy might be fine, but the newer teams certainly aren't. Right now I'm losing 80k a week without a home game, and my merch revenue of $4500 does very little to make up for that. The only reason I'm not bankrupt or in the red is because I have sold a bunch of players for decent cash. The only other things keeping me afloat was the 175k from the TV game a couple weeks back (though I believe you got 400k for that same game).

Granted, I could get rid of my high level coaching staff (38k a week) but I'd still be losing money or very close to it. The economy for most teams certainly isn't "booming".

I think the idea is that newer teams have to be very conservative in their spending. I am pretty much in the same situation and I am little worried about what is going to happen when I stop getting the new team $50,000 a week stipend.

Coming from Hattrick where the number one rule is to maximize your training, I think I may have added staff too agressively and over-estimated arena income. I'm just hoping to make it through the off-season with out having to gut my team.

Yea, it basically comes down to hoping the early influx of cash can hold out untill my team is financially stable.

If anything the economy has got better for new players.

When i was starting there was only the 50k per week for first 4? weeks and no TV games.

If you just started a team i would advise that you should be initially concentrating on expanding your arena while you have the 50k per week and not spending it on hiring new staff or buying new players.

1. Get your team performing and winning games to attract fans (especially TV games)
2. Build arenas to accommodate all the fans you can
3. If you think you can afford to support a new PR guy with your current income - buy him to attract even more fans
