Guys,

I know that there was already a discussion about the pros and cons of a full court press against the motion offense. Here is my question:

I am going to play a guy who has two players in top 3 in points and assists. He always plays Motion. Will his awesome players be able to overcome the FCP and kill me or will the FCP be good enough to keep them in line?

Thanks.

Hell no. FCP is horrible. 3-2 zone is the best defensive set.

Depending on the situation, a 1-3-1 zone might also be good to play. Depends on yours and his rebounding skills.

but the safer option is a 3-2 zone.

The safest option is 3-2

1-3-1 is good if you have a really good rebounding C

FCP is only good if your opponent turns the ball over a lot even in a game where FCP is not utilised and your guys have a very high stamina.

About that 1-3-1 vs 3-2 zone defense. Provided that you have a strong rebounding, what's the advantage of 1-3-1? Does it provide better perimeter defense than 3-2?

as Yungbeast sais..it provides much better perimeter defense , but leaves only one guy in your paint to fight for rebounds (the general idea) so you need strong rebounding skill...

i think you should think about your PF's od also i wouldnt play 1-3-1 with a PF who has very low OD.
