I've been watching my games to see if I can discern anything from the pbp. Unfortuneately, all too often I see drivel like these:
1)
Aldo Pedro Veron tries a driving layup
shot missed
Aldo Pedro Veron flew in from the wing to grab the offensive rebound.

Obviously he didn't 'fly in from the wing'. He's standing under the basket having just missed a shot.

2) Worse is:

Jackie Moore gets off a great pass to Danny Latham. Danny Latham is forced to take a long three.
Shot Missed.

It is NOT a great pass if the result a long, forced three.

3) Utterly ludicrous is:

Marcos Dafonte flies high above the rim and drops it in, as Xu Haomin rotates over to help defend the play.
Shot Missed.

Now, not only did he NOT 'drop it in', but Xu Haomin is ON HIS TEAM.

This specific example occurs at the 7:57 mark of my game played on 4/13/2010, however I've seen it several times, multiple times in the same game.

In every case, the player misses. Is this because he's playing 4-on-6?

I simply don't see the point in the pbp if it is as utterly useless as this.
