Hi guys,
here's my dilemma: I have a main player that's on mediocre stamina, he can already play effectively 48 minutes with m2m & motion. I know that he will be dropping in stamina in a couple of weeks. so I am wondering if its okay to play with inept and use this week to train other skill which is also very important. what do you think?

I would train the other skills. The reason being that you think it will take a few weeks to drop to inept, by this time it will be playoffs and then the offseason which will be a good time for you to train stamina.

when you say during the play off, does this mean u consider to TIE and not to take out the championship? For me, I want to take out the whole thing so I thought it is important that I train GS? What do you think?

I would go for the promotion and try and win the league. I wouldn't train GS though. By managing minutes you can keep gameshape on respectable to proficient, so there is no need to train gameshape. But if you want to try and win the championship and not have to worry about training minutes then you can train stamina and free throws during the playoffs.

does that make sense?

yes, does make sense. just that i heard from some1 said dat its important to have prof gs in play off. hmm maybe i m just overly concern about rubbish. so as long i have gs on resp and above i should be fine? is there a big diff between pro and res gs?

"just that i heard from some1 dat u have profs"
I don't understand what you mean here.

"so as long i have gs on resp and above i should be fine?"
Yes respectable and above is fine, obviously proficient is better, but I don't think it is worth training game shape if your players are respectable, strong and proficient.

"is there a big diff between pro and res gs?"
I personally think that there is a big difference, and maybe if you don't care about training young trainees then it might be a good idea to train game shape to improve your chances of winning, but I personally wouldn't recommend training game shape. Remember that training game shape when your player has respectable gameshape doesn't mean he will suddenly have proficient next week, he might stay on respectable or probably just improve to strong.

im going to come along and disagree here and say that for playoffs (if the games are going to be close) you need strong+ gameshape min.

ill also say from what ive seen that there is a pretty big difference from resp to prof gameshape in terms of gameplay.

that being said nakers completely correct int hat you should be able to manage your mins well enough you should be able to keep your players above strong easily.

Never train game shape. There is no need. Manage your minutes better and you'll get strong-proficient game shape with relative ease across the board.

Here's a graph that displays the relationship between weekly minutes and game shape: http://i39.tinypic.com/1553oud.jpg

Basically if you get a player between 40-80 minutes he should improve or maintain a solid game shape. 45-70 minutes would be very solid.
