I know 3 months gets BB more guaranteed money, but I think that the lowest price of $11.99 turns a lot of people off when considering supporter. Thoughts?

I disagree, $12 is peanuts even to a kid these days. It is more other factors like not wanting to have an ongoing fee, not having access to online funds and fear of being ripped off when you pay for something online. I play lots of online games but few inspire me to get out my credit card. Even if it was $1 I still think there would be lots of resistance to paying. From my point of view I think it is a wonderful bargain, $12 to support this game I love, awesome.

I disagree. I think that having the option to buy for 1 month would definitely increase sales rather than decrease them. Players that are already buying in 3 month lumps will most likely continue to do so. And this will allow new players that want to try supporter for a bit without paying too much to do so. Also, you say that 12 dollars isn't much to kids, I agree that it isn't much, but how many kids have credit cards or online facilities for payment? They have to ask their parents, and parents are more likely to say yes to 4 dollars than 12 dollars.

Also, 12 dollars isn't much to us Australians, but it might be a lot to someone else in a different country where the exchange rate is high. It might cost someone a lot more to buy supporter than we imagine.

I think if you are up front about it and maybe have a link on the supporter page to a "costs explained faq" then it would be reasonable. You could say that it is not a good deal but that it is an option. At my local Milk Bar a 600ml bottle of coke is $3.40 and a 1.25L bottle is $3.80. I often buy the small one anyway because I simply don't want that much coke.

Adding options is not ripping anyone off, but some people simply don't have access to a credit card (or a huge paypal wad - I sold a Spectral Tiger for WOW for US$1,000 and have been happily spending that money on random junk for the last year) so allowing them to pay with their mobile phone credits would be a good option.

The only downside may be an ethical one if kids use the mobile phone credits their parents gave them for "emergencies" to instead play a game there could be problems, but then again it is better than them using their credits on sexting.

Continuing with the deviation: I agree that is amazing someone would pay that amount, but if I really wanted a "spectral tiger" (whatever that is) I would imagine it would cost me much more than $1,000 in opportunity cost to get one.

On topic: One month supporter is a pretty good idea. Not really necessary, imo, but couldn't hurt. I think people understand that they pay more for single items than you do for bulk. It actually annoys me when I go to a restaurant and realize their combo meals are the exact same price as totaling up the prices of the items al la carte.

Not sure if this is a possible solution, but how about that:

Instead of buying a three/twelve month subscription for yourself or a friend you can split it up to single months and distribute them, however you like.

EDIT: Whoever is stalking my post and 1-balling them: Get a life!

Haha, trust me $5 for 1 month sounds MUCH more appealing than $12 for 3 months. Its mainly the problem of my parents not thinking I will continue to play.

Does it really hurt BB other than not having that guaranteed money? If you can get more buyers for 1 month than for 3 months, I'd take it because at least 1/2 of them will continue buying and thats $3 profit by the 3 month time.

as they said, it is 3$+ for the company who offers the payment method but it is probadly more then nothing.
