I think we could add something more to the Merchandising in the game, where the manager can have more control over the Merchandise and has to maintain stock levels. I think we should keep it the same format as the arena page, something like this example............

...............................................................................................................

Merchandise Stock

Item............ In stock... Capacity.. Price

Jersey's :......200..........500........(Current Price: $13) (Price as of 7/3/2010: $13)
T-shirt's :......300..........500........(Current Price: $10) (Price as of 7/3/2010: $10)
Cap's :.........500..........1000...... (Current Price: $5) (Price as of 7/3/2010: $5)
Posters :.......50.......... 75......... (Current Price: $2) (Price as of 7/3/2010: $2)
Mug's:......... 50...........100........(Current Price: $4) (Price as of 7/3/2010: $4)
Ect...

.............................................................................................................

Merchandise sold

Date ..........Opponent.............Jersey's....T-shirt's..Cap's..Posters... Mug's..Game Type

5/22/2010...City Celtics............126.........105....... 272....10.........15...... Home
5/18/2010.. Saintstars..............107........ 86.........182.... 6.......... 5...... Away
5/8/2010... shepparton shooters.132.........122........288....12.........19......Home

(A button with upgrade capacity)

.....................................................................................................................

Change Merchandise Prices

Here you can change prices of your Merchandise. The price changes take effect on 7/3/2010.

Jersey's : (Min: $10, Max: $30)
T-shirt's : (Min: $5, Max: $25)
Cap's : (Min: $5, Max: $15)
Posters : (Min: $1, Max: $5)
Mug's : (Min: $1, Max: $10)

This is only an example, The BB's would have to work out the right prices and formula's to make it work, so that it fit's in with the rest of the game and doesn't interfere with the Economy flow to much.

agreed. BB's should add new dimensions to this game, otherwise it might get boring after a certain time.

Sounds great and it could be even deeper. However there have to be any option to do it automaticly by PR manager, while he could make these updates succesfully according to his level. - it is because lot of rookie teams would have an problem with that. For some teams are even Arena prices neverending problem to solve.

Only think I miss here is that you can pick like 1 star player which will have better propagation, you will invest in him more. So that will give you payback as he will show great results during games.

Even if it doesn't increase the merchandise profit, It'd be really fun to see where it all comes from. The more options in the game, the more fun. That's another reason GLB is SO popular. They have SO many options that it took me 3 days to get through it all.

What would be cool would be to design the Jersey's, T-Shirt's, etc. Add your logo to it. etc. Then to add more accesories and products, make it cost $10k to implement a new product or something? I dont know, just an add on.

i think that is a really good idea. some people like me love to micromanage everthing they can while others dont, so i think there should be a good discussion on this to find a happy medium. maybe we could get a federation going on about this and try to present something to the bb's which would be fair for all.

its a basketball management game , not just a basketball sim.
this is a great idea, ive been hoping for more deep behind the scenes options of how to run my franchise .
running a franchise should entail alot more then we currently have and i hope we get alot more as the game evolves .

I can think of very little I would like less than managing merchandise prices for my team (maybe choosing their sock color and pattern?). I envision myself as a general manager with coaching responsibilities. I'm fairly certain a Jerry Jones or Dan Snyder (american football references) aren't losing sleep over charging $12 or $14 for a foam finger.

Furthermore, I enjoy this game for its simplicity. That does not mean I wouldn't enjoy more tactical depth and choices, but more that the decisions I make are directly relevant to basketball and the results on the floor. To be honest, I'm not even really a huge fan of the stadium seating prices. I just max them out and wait until they fill out 90%+ to upgrade. If I wanted an economy simulator, there are several established games that I could select from.
