Just a reminder that this years road to the championship is much harder than last seasons since all the teams have updated their strength as well as the fact that most managers are now experts in the game of buzzerbeater. I would like to bring your attention to the Great 8 conference since there is a huge battle for court advantage between that 4 playoff teams. First at the moment is non other than Megalonisos while the rest are trailing a bit behind. Nevertheless nothing is for sure. Pistoleros (my own team) after a superb away win against Bros is now at the second position of the league. Lets hope our team will continue to bring good results and thus captivating the second place and thus the court advantage in the play offs.
Hopefully this will be only the begging of a great road to future championships and thus show to all the non believers that good tactics and transfer picks along with good training brings good results. Many have claimed in the past that the team has no future and will never be competitive if the manager doesnt change its tactics and his transfer picks. The team will never manage to win the big teams of its conference. Well, the team managed to win the all mighty Megalonisos and the upcoming favourite Bros. If I could use their own words " I speak with results".

Since Bros, Pistoleroi and Ekleptismenoi were small teams that tried hard to become competitive and are still trying, I would like to wish them all good luck in the upcoming play offs. Keep up the good work guys, dont mind what other people say and just do your thing. Hard work will bring results, you can bet on that.

Well spoken. Hard work is the key to achieve greatness. Small teams are growing and becoming better and better. But to be honest they are still lacking to the more experienced and with more time in the league teams. However it should be noted that the 'big' teams are starting to consider smaller teams more and more. In cases where they underestimated teams they were hugely disappointed....
This competition makes the teams and managers try even harder and also makes us motivated not to quit. Lets just hope that this rivalry improves the cypriot players playing in the U21 because unfortunately the players involved are of continually decreasing value and status.

So the battle for positioning in the Great 8 conference continues. All four teams are close to each other and surely anything can happen especially for second, third and forth position. Megalonisos, unless unexpected defeats, will finish in the first position while all the rest is unsure at the time being. As Chris (manager of Ekleptismenoi) has mentioned before we should give regards to Keraynos, a new born team, which under the guidance of its manager is growing fast, managing to win not only Pistoleroi but also Cyprus Fighters. We all mentioned it before so I am going to repeat myself, smaller teams tend to grow fast as the managers understand more and more how the game works. Based on this we have noticed that its getting even harder for the "big" teams to win with ease thus making the championship even harder. We have seen it in the past and recently, that bad tactics from big team managers will no longer guaranty the win but most likely will bring loss to their squad.
Surely this season is a milestone for the future to come. Who knows how strong the so called "mediocre" teams (called by some managers) will get next season and for the seasons to come. If the managers work as hard as they have this season surely we are for big surprises in the league.
In the Big 8 conference Pasifs tend to dominate the first position while the continues losses of Cyprus Fighters both by Syntaxer and Keraynos have rocketed Bc Teammate to the current second place which surely they will not give up easily. Finally we come to Syntaxer and Keraynos (we done guys) who are going head to head is a race for the forth place leading to the playoffs. Both teams strong and capable will fight to the very last moment for the ticket to the final 4.
Good luck to all teams.

Lets not forget Ipwich, a new coming team tothe CBBA that based on a series of good transfers and hard training has managed to overcome the last place in the Great 8 division and surely no team takes them lightly anymore. Good job Ipwich, keep it up!

Here are the latest news for all those of you that do not follow the league teams on a regular basis.

1. Starting with the most important news that upset the team of Passif Agressifs. We are talking about Zoran Ivic the top scorer of the league with an average of 28.9 points per game. An excellent PG,SG that all outside defenses fear. What are the news? After the game on the 5th of June Ivic was injured and is expected to return in 2 weeks time. What does this mean? Ivic will return to the squad after the first playoff game most likely on Saturday 19th of June on the second round of the playoffs. (most likely)
Upset forms in the Big 8 division since Passif were surely the top candidates for the championship. Unfortunate luck cuts down much of the strength of the team. Will they be able to remain in the playoffs until the mighty Ivic returns? We shall see, hopefully yes cause they deserve a shot at the title.

2. On the other side, Great 8, Pistoleros unbelievable wins turned to a stop after losing with 1 point difference in overtime in an away game against mighty Megalonisos. Excellent performance by the "mediocre" team but the dream was killed with the last second free shot of Gaillard. Nevertheless Pistoleros manager is very proud of its team development and now turns its attention to the playoffs.

3. Thursdays game is all about the match of Ekleptismenoi against Bros. Two of the strongest teams in the Great 8 draw their swords. A win by Bros means they get to keep the second place and thus the court advantage. On the other hand a win by Ekleptismenoi doesnt bring much to the team as in a draw with Pistoleroi they loss the third position do to point difference unless an upset happens in the last 2 games.

4. Finally its about time to mention the NT U21. Surely none of the managers is happy seeing its NT loss. Although manager Ekleptismenos tried and is still trying hard, its not much he can do since the squad consists of average players. Apparently not all managers take an interest in the NT U21 and thus fail to train their young players. It would be wise to keep a spot empty in everyones training schedule for a future talent rookie and train him week after week. Lets help our manager and lets help our NT. Dont forget to send Ekleptismenos an email with your players skill pop ups every week.

5. It was in our attention to discuss the strong points and weakness of all the playoff teams but eventually we came to the conclusion that it would be wiser not to. So we wish good luck to all of the teams. May the best win the championship and may the ones that deserve it remain in the CBBA.

Its not your team mediocre...the league in general is mediocre...the best team in CBBA would struggle to get 1-2 wins on the best leagues of BB. I dont think that anyone can deny this...

About the U21, the best advice that i can give, is if you have a talented player that you doesnt plan to train, just sell him. I am sure that an experienced manager will be happy to train a good youngster. Actually the majority of the NT players have been trained from foreigners. If you want to train them then contact 1st with the NT coaches for advices, or with some more experienced managers. I am sure that the majority of us, we are more than happy to help.

And there you have it people. Megalonisos, Bros, Pistoleroi, Ekleptismenoi are the playoff teams from Great 8 and from Big 8 we have Passif, Bc Teammate, Cyprus Fighters and Syntaxer who managed to win Keraynos on the last game of the league and thus capitalize on the playoff 4rth position. The win nevertheless came with a great price since
José María Fedorov was injured and will miss the game against Passifs thus nearly killing any dream Syntaxer had for the championship.
1. Megalonisos Vs Ekleptismenoi. Can ekleptismenoi, the underdog, make the surprise and win the mighty Megalonisos? Megalonisos has the advantage of home court while Ekleptismenoi have a better overall game shape. Could the fact that Gaillard and Tarokic`s game shape is average, change the outcome of the game? Surely Ekleptismenoi have spoted this potential weakness and we await to see how the manager sets its team against the mighty Megalonisos.
2. Bros Vs Pistoleroi. What can we say here? Both teams have grown so much since the past seasons (along with Ekleptismenoi). Both have started as the underdogs and look at them now. Bros has the homecourt advantage aswell as the gameshape advantage since nearly all of its players have a proficient game shape. This will make it even harder for Pistoleroi to repeat the 14 difference win they had in the previous away game with Bros. Surely a game down to the wire. Both teams have the ability to play several tactical games either inside or outside thus making it harder to predict the outcome of the game.
3. Passif Agressifs Vs Syntaxer. Probably an easy win of Passif since José María Fedorov was injured and thus the strength of Syntaxer has weakened. If Zoran Ivic does not return from injury by the time of the second round, Passif will find themselves in a tight spot against Bc teammate or Cyprus Fighters.
4. Bc Teammate Vs Cyprus Fighters. Another game that surely is to take your breath away. Cyprus tends to have a better armament of PG and SG but lucking in the SF, PF, C position. Nevertheless both teams can play excellent outside the basket as well as inside. Bc Teammates starting line up has a game shape proficient in contrast to Cyprus Fighters were some players have strong game shape. Can Bc Teammate capitalize on this aswell as the home court advantage to go to the second round? Or will the former champions move up once again?

Here is our prediction of the first round:
1.Passif Aggresifs 75%, Syntaxer 25%
2. Bc Teammate 55%, Cyprus Fighters 45%

1. Megalonhsos 60%, Ekleptismenoi 40%
2. Bros 55%, Pistoleroi 45%

So there you have it. Our predictions came spot on. The final couples are Passifs Vs Bc Teammate and Megalonisos Vs Bros. In this review we shall give more attention to the game Megalonisos Vs Bros.

1. In the game between Megalonisos and Bros there are a lot of factors that tend to make this game interesting. At starters Megalonisos has the court advantage as well as the enthousiasm on its side since in their former game against Ekleptismenoi they played Normal instead of Crunch unlike Bros against Pistoleroi. In contrast Bros gameshape is by far better than Megalonisos nearly in all the positions thus tending to balance the difference. Could it be that the past two weeks Bros has been training gameshape as an attempt to win the championship? Is such a move worth it, and especially for an upcoming team that needs to grow and not to waste time? Maybe yes or maybe no. Perhaps the most weakest point of Megalonisos is non other than is SG Penezic. A player with very good outside shooting but relativly poor on its OD. Adding the fact that its game shape is average its surely the candidate position to attack offensively. Moreover Gaillard, a great PF, is once again down in respect to its game shape (average) in contrast to its opponent Arazana who is strong in the same department (game shape). On the otherhand Bros inability of a SF is the weakness probably Megalonisos will try to capitalise on to. How do we expect the two teams to play?
Megalonisos LI 3-2. With Gaillard in a SF position
Bros Run and Gun Man to man.
What will the final result be? Lets wait and see. The sure thing is that the winner will come against a monster of monster, either Passifs or Bc teammate. Surely the title will not be in benefit of the Great 8 but then again going to the finals will increase the money income of the teams.

To start with Passif managed to overcome Bc teammate as it was expected while on the other side at the great 8 conference Bros achieved a win against Megalonisos. What went wrong for the team of Megalonisos? To start with we expected Bros to play Run and Gun and man to man, which they did. On the other hand the best tactics for Megalonisos would be to play LI and 3-2, which they didnt. The manager decided to play LI and 2-3 for reasons not really understood. As came to understand megalonisos outside defense is not up to the standarts and with Penezic at a bad shape it would make it even worse. On the other hand Megalonisos big guys seem to be good both in defense but also in offense and so it was no need to increase the inside defense. Anyway the result says it all. Bros managed to win the game manly from outside as its PG and SG did not find much of a resistance. What would the result be if Megalonisos played 3-2? We will never know. One is for sure, the managers tactics affected the result of the match. Well done to Bros for a good win. For Jason, good game and good luck in season 13.
