So this is the end of my second season of play and I look to be advancing to DIV at the end of the season. This of course has me agonizing over how competitive my team will be and how to best train my players to guarantee I become competitive as quickly as possible.

Right now I am two position training guards. I train the 5 players listed below on a weekly basis.

I guess my question is,which of these players do I keep and which do I sell and buy fresh talent with. For example, Hempel is too old to train at this point, but he is also the most potent part of my offense and a strong contributor on the defensive end? Do I need to keep him? Basically who would you keep and what would you do with the remaining players.

Brad Souza
Age: 18
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: allstar

Roberto Barbosa
Age: 21
Height: 6'1" / 185 cm
Potential: allstar

Wlodzimierz Hempel
Age: 26
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: perennial allstar

Timothy Lagomarsini
Age: 21
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: allstar

Hayden Phillips
Age: 22
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: hall of famer

If you need any more info on these players feel free to message me. Thanks a ton!

I'd highly suggest that you go to 1 position training. You can train Souza, Phillips, and then Barbosa or Lagomarsini. Depending on which is better skills wise. Or you could train a draftee with Souza and Phillips. Then sell Barbosa and/or Lagomarsini and get a better starter. My first season I did two position training and have since switched to one position and like it a lot better.

Just checked out your roster and you could probably get some serious cash if you put Rodgers on the market. With his salary age and potential he would be a great trainee for someone. You could get an equal guy skill wise who is older for a lot cheaper..... same with Cornel, he sold for over 100k twice in November and you only paid 14k

Ya I agree with JV. Single training would be the way to go. I would stick with Souza, Phillips and get another 18 year old at the start of next season. While playing Hempel at SG and the other 3 at PG. Then keep Barbosa or Lagomarsini as a back up SG or sell them or other players and get a stronger back up or starter. If you would like help feel free to send me a message.

I disagree with the above advice. Buy/draft some more under 21 players and two position train. I feel like I financially wrecked (or at least set back) my team by one position training some questionable prospects early on. Two position training generates more income and depth which are the keys early on in the game (unless you have some sort of spectacular prospect who is looking like he might be a u21 or NT player).
