In the first 4 games of this season I have had leads after the 1st quarter, but my team seems to fall apart later in the game. I have only one 1 game so I am wondering how stop giving up 8 to 10 point leads after the first quarter. Does this have something to do with stamina? Can you guys give me advise? Also any tips on how to stay competitive in my league and also if I may be lacking at any positions.

Stamina could be a factor but it's not strange to see patterns where the losing team starts strong but is eventually outplayed by the winning team. Looking at your competition, I'd say that if you want to have a chance at 1st place in your conference or at least make the playoffs, I would round out your team by buying a PF and a C each in the 10-12k area for starters (will probably cost you between 1.5mil to 2mil though). That way you can play more of a balanced offense (provided that the offensive skills of your players will be at similar levels) as opposed to an outside/inside oriented style (which would be easier for opponents to defend).

Play "take it easy" for a couple of games to get your enthusiasm higher than your opponents, then play normal for a couple games, wash, rinse, repeat.

First of all, having a balanced roster is not that important in the beginning, but it has plenty of advantages. The pf and c won't cost as much as the second poster said. Veteran big men are dropping fast and you could probably get 2 decent starters for under 700k. Maybe even less, this is just what I have been seeing the last few days on the transfer list.

You really do have to look at his opponents' rosters, especially in his own conference. The top teams there have good balanced teams (in terms of salary anyway). He may be able to make the playoffs with his current roster but certainly won't make it to the second round.

But yeah, maybe he could get those kinda players cheaper than what I had written, I might have overpaid for my players. But I feel he'll definitely need to add at least a PF and C to have a chance in the playoffs.
