I think the cup should be seeded. The cup is supposed to determine which team is the best. I think that the number 1 ranking should play number 1024. Number 2 should play 1023. Number 3 should play number 1022. etc etc. I think this will ensure that the best team wins the cup. I realise that you might argue that this would provide too much easy income for teams. So my suggestion would also be that the first 3 rounds will not provide any money for the winner. That way there is no easy income for teams that are playing bots. After 3 rounds there will be 128 teams left. The seeding would then continue, so the highest ranked team would play the lowest ranked team. etc etc. I think this would make things far more interesting and right now it is just random and the top 2 teams could draw each other. Or a div 4 team can make it to the last 64 by playing bad teams the whole time.

Well what is the point of the National Cup if not to find the "best" team?

I don't think it is fair for the tenth best team in the country to draw the best team in the country when there are bots that draw other bots.

How is the current system more fair? In the current system a div 1 team could draw another div 1 team while there are div 4 teams that might draw 3 bots in a row.

I don't think the cup is broken. I just know that almost every cup in the world has seedings. The reason they have seedings is to ensure the best team wins and to have a fairer draw.
