Now in BB, the best and most expensive players in the world are not wanted by everyone (as they should) but nobody wants them.A good solution is reducing high-potential players. This is also realistic:
The number of players who are members of an NBA team are more than 400.
Every team has 3-4 ''benchwarmers'' and ''announcers'', 5-6 ''role players'' and ''Sixth'' ones, and 5 ''starters''
Only 24 of the ''Starters'' make the ''Allstar'' team.
Of the 24 ''Allstars'' only the 15 are ''Superstars''.
From those 15 only 7-8 take awards at the end of the season (those are the ''MVPs'').
And from these 8 players only 4 or 5 will make the ''Hall of Fame''. However, we can't remember all the ''Hall-Of-Famers''. But we will remember this ''All-Times-Great'' one!

So, from 500 NBA players there are:

60 announcers
60 benchwarmers
90 Role Players
90 Sixth Players
150 Starters
24 Allstars
15 Superstars
8 MVPs
5 Hall of Famers
2 All Time Greats

So, from 50.000 BB players there should be:
6.000 announcers
6.000 benchwarmers
9.000 Role Players
9.000 Sixth Players
15.000 Starters
2.400 Allstars
1.500 Superstars
800 MVPs
500 Hall of Famers
200 All Time Greats


*I know the numbers don't make sense but I didn't have much time to spend on it.

not a bad idea but what about perennial allstar? also what about the high potential players that dont get trained?

I forgot the ''perennial allstar'' potential!!!!
If the Game Engine generates 100 28-year-old players per season only 5 of them will have a good potential (which doesn' matter, but is more realistic this way)

This is one of those idea where if you wanted the game to be more realistic then ok good idea, but this is one of those parts of the game that you dont want to be more realistic. You dont want a bunch of benchwarmer potential players on your team only come on man.

The meaning of ''Hall-of-Famer'' is lost in this game. ''Hall-Of-Famers'' should be rare but they aren't...

well then maybe changing the names for each level of potential would be more appropriate

Potential is Potential, not the player's current ability level. Very few of those players in the NBA who you are calling announcers or benchwarmers would be announcer or benchwarmer in terms of potential. Certainly none would have been when they entered the NBA. Many NBA players, perhaps the majority of them, never reach the potential that was associated with them when they were drafted. The difference is that in real life, we either quickly stop paying attention to what a player's potential was, or we reevaluate what the player's potential is. In BB, the original potential is always what is displayed.

I think the problem is more with the BB users than it is with BB. Most people don't seem to take in to account that Hall of Fame potential on a 28 year old who still has a salary under $25,000, for example, really doesn't mean much at all.

Seen our country's draft (I'm a scout now for 4 seasons) and what gets through to fill their potential, I would even recommend more high potential players. So few players fullfill their potential..

Well, that makes sense... I agree with you guys.

However, reducing high-potential players is a solution to avoid the re-built of more David Tapias on the BB-World...
