Should I blow the season? ive just started and i just wasted all of my money on my arena and staff (stupid choice i know) so i now have no money to spend, i'm bottom of my conference with a pretty bad starting team. also i don't have any good trainees that would be worthy training and ive planned to come last in my conference so i could have the first pick in my draft. is this a good choice?

I don't think there's a D.V in England, is there? If no, I don't see the harm.

Bad manager, bad manager. Sit :))) Just kidding.

You COULD save the season but it would be hard. How many seats are under construction? For how long? How much money do you have? What's your weekly + or - ? How much do you spend on your staff? Maybe you can buy new trainees and start training them? I can help you in your search if you need them. Just answer all of this so we can get the picture and see what can be done to remedy the situation.

Feel free to bb-mail me, cheers.

First of all, you just started. The first couple weeks are always rough before you find a team you're comfortable with. The nice part is that the first couple weeks, you get a free 50k each week to help out people who wasted all of their money on something right away before they had time to think it over (not that arena is a waste, but it could be better spent).

But seriously, you can get some decent 4k salary players for under 10k transfer prices, so wait for a little money to come in and you'll be fine. This is your first lesson in Buzzerbeater - be patient.

I agree that your most pressing need right now is for trainees. You have a couple players that are servicable in that they could be trained, but none that you would really want to train. Until you pick up some better players, you're probably stuck single position training inside skills with Canning, Hollis, and Dey, unless you need Dey to start elsewhere (he wouldn't train real fast anyway).

Throwing this season isn't a horrible choice anyway, you would have a tough time making the playoffs (though I think it could be done) and there's no great downside since you can't relegate. So I guess once you find a group of trainees you're happy with, don't spend any more and start saving to upgrade your starters next season.

you should continue with that, until you had 3 trainees and then train them.

About blowing your season, try to get on position 7 to get 2 weeks with extra games but still a good draft pick or try so hard as you could to win so many games like you can but invest your money in the future(Trainees, and also 2-3 VIP seats but those have less priority)

above 2m the training speed is ok, so i didn't worry about his size.

and what potential should i be looking for?

i would look for starters or better, i would tend for star and allstar potential and some extra skill from the beginning then a weaker player with higher potential - but in this case you could have different opions. A starter player had enough cap to develop, to help you for a long time but potential is also considered when you sell people and for this i don't know if you could make more money with them in comparision to a slightly better player wihtout that much potential.(hopefully i don't conduse with that, i believe someone could say that with better words, and maybe even more knowledge)

Mod-CrazyEye's advice is solid. You have a serviceable, if not halfway decent training lineup for now. Save up for a bit and buy a first rate trainee once you have 100k-200k. All the teams that finish at the bottom of the league should be bots/inactive, so once the draft lists are released and you've done some scouting of the top prospects, you should know if it's worth finishing 7th or 8th.
